“Tour the Island”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

Booked the tour of Bainsbridge Island not knowing exactly what to expect Jean and Jim do a very good job and making sure all the details are handled, and you know how to find them. Jim drives, and Jean leads the tour. She obviously knows a great deal about the area, and is proud to show off her back yard. Your teenagers may not appreciate the time and the tour, but there is a lot of history, in this area. There are enough stops to get out and see the sights, and Jim does a great job navigating the narrow side roads. Very enjoyable.

Thank you for the wonderful review!

I must agree that many teens might not enjoy the time on the bus on our half day Bainbridge Island tour. Of the three standard tours we offer, this one has the least "free" time. Families with teens might like to consider our "Bainbridge Island / Kitsap Peninsula" tour where we have free time in two communities and options including kayaking OR our Bloedel Reserve tour where we take a two mile walk through the beautiful property and have the potential to see wildlife. Of course, some teens really enjoy the Bainbridge Island tour :)

I'm glad you enjoyed the tour and appreciated the history of the island and Jim thanks you for commenting on his driving!

“Super Tour - Great Inside Look at a Bainbridge Island Gem”
Reviewed July 5, 2013

We took the Bloedel Reserve Tour with Kitsap Tours and enjoyed the experience enormously. The tour featured the gardens of the Bloedel Reserve. We were picked up at the ferry landing on Bainbridge Island and driven in a comfortable, well-equipped van to the Reserve. We then had a guided 2 mile stroll through the grounds of the Bloedel Reserve with well-paced discussions of the natural environment and history of the grounds. Jean was informative and shared her enthusiasm for the environment of Bainbridge Island. She was able to manage the pacing for everyone in the group and was thorough in her information with engaging and thoughtful manner. The tour was a delight and we enjoyed ourselves enormously.

Thank you for the very nice, no, wonderful review! So grateful to our guests who allow us to spend our time "showing off" our beautiful area. Walking through the Bloedel Reserve with wonderful people is an amazing way to spend a morning. I have as much fun as our guests do. Thank you for taking the time to write a review.

“Great tour and info about Bainbridge Island, Washington State”
Reviewed June 26, 2013

This is a fun way to relax, spend some time and get to know this lovely Island. Jean and Jim have a small tour bus which makes this an intimate tour. You won't be lost in the crowd. Jean has a thorough knowledge of the Island and shares it, along with some interesting videos. There are several stops to get out and do some exploring. Hit the bathroom before you get on the bus ( though there are some potty stops along the way). Jim is a careful driver and adds some commentary to his wife's remarks. These are very friendly people and will welcome you to their beautiful Island home.
We loved the ferry ride to and from the Island as well. Great views of Seattle.
Highly recommended.

“Kitsap Tours”

We took the Small Group Bainbridge Island Half Day Tour with Kitsap Tours on June 4, 2013. Jean and her husband provided a wonderful tour of this beautiful island. Their personal insight on Bainbridge history and happenings made for a very enjoyable tour. Its clear that Jean is very knowlegeable of not only the facts but about real world experiences on the island. Because of the small group we were able to make several picture stops along the way, and got to see some wildlife up close and personal. Great to deal with a guide who is so passionate about the area. We took an earlier ferry over to the island and were able to start the tour earlier. Take the afternoon tour and stay on the island for dinner- Cafe Nola was a great recommendation.

“The Perfect Choice For Bainbridge and Kitsap Peninsula”
Reviewed June 17, 2013

This is the perfect way to spend a half or full day: ferry across the magnificently beautiful Puget Sound (which with some luck will include a spectacular view of the majestic Mt. Rainier behind the Seattle cityscape) and tour the enchanting Kitsap peninsula and Bainbridge Island with Jean and Jim Boyle of Kitsap Tours. They pick you up in a comfy mini-bus at the dock, and offer several flexible options. I was captivated --no--utterly transported by this extremely knowledgeable, personable, and energetic tour guide couple back to the 1850's New England styled Victorian town of Port Gamble, built with logging and milling fortunes, and it remains frozen in time. We walked and listened to the whispering sacred grounds of Chief Seattle's Suquamish tribal homeland, where the Chief ruled over 6 local tribes, and learned why he was chosen (and paid) as the city's namesake. We had a delightful electric boat ride through the harbor of pristine Poulsbo, called "Little Norway," explored it's neighborhoods, wandered through rustic shops, and dined in trendy restaurants and cafes. We learned some interesting facts about shore birds and sea lions as we walked along a beach; we saw many varieties of ferns and wildflowers as we motored down country lanes; and we gained a tremendous amount of insight into some of the most important environmental concerns of this precious and unique part of our country. This was a fabulous tour experience--not to be missed!
