There is not much of a choice at Exit 72 off of I81 in Wytheville, VA for restaurants. One of the few is the Sagebrush Steakhouse. As we entered the restaurant, we noticed that the AC must have been turned very low because it was quite cold inside. The decor is an attempt to make it feel like a western restaurant - but it fails. The best we can say about the food is that it is adequate. My wife and I both had the beef tips preceded by an appetizer of fried onion strings. At the table next to ours, a patron was complaining that his steak (ordered very rare) was not even cooked and was still refrigerator cold. Our meals were OK, but not great. Prices were a bit high except for the specials, which we chose. In retrospect, we should have driven a little further in order to find a better restaurant.
