When the Harrisonburg property had no availability for our family of 5, we decided to stop a bit earlier to get a room at the Woodstock location. We were pleasantly surprised with what we found. This location is fabulous, one of the best Hamptons we've ever visited. ( We are loyal to the brand on road trips.)
Our room was extremely quiet (we were in the front of the building, away from the highway) and we never heard a sound from an adjoining room or hallway. The hotel itself was quite full, but we were able to get a king suite with a pullout sofa and rollaway. There is a tremendous desk in the middle of the room, which made the rollaway a tight fit, but otherwise, the room was very large. Everything is new and immaculate. (I do not use that word lightly.) Breakfast consisted of your standard fare, but everything was fresh and the staff was always monitoring and refilling as necessary. It was perfect to get a bite to eat before jumping back onto the highway.
We will absolutely be stopping here again!

When I have to be critical of the acoustics of the swimming pool or the speed of the elevator you can expect first class. Great front desk (cute blonde with great smile ) had discounts that saved $ at restaurants and attractions. Rooms were spacious and clean, well stocked and comfortable.

It was a great place to stay over President's Day weekend. The room was clean and smelled fresh. In the lobby area there was a fire place roaring with some chairs and a table. Whenever we had questions about the town or restaurant recommendations the staff were so helpful and accurate in their suggestions. Fortunately the indoor pool was at the right temperature and my children enjoyed it. Even though we were close to the highway we did not hear anything. Yes, we did face the front of the building as recommended by another reviewer.

Room Tip: Request a room facing the front of the building.

We've stayed in 25-30 different Hampton properties across the country, and the Inn in Woodstock, VA ranks right up there with the very best of them. It's relatively new (front desk said it's 2+ years' old), and its contemporary architecture & styling are a refreshing departure from the last iteration of Hampton's appearances. High ceilings in the bright, comfortable, well laid-out breakfast area made it a welcoming area for that morning eat-and-run. Our room (high floor, away from the elevators) was large, king bed, with a couch, mini-fridge and microwave.
Take the front desk's recommendations re dining; there's not much in the immediate area, so lean on their tastes (and use the coupons they freely give out).
We've stayed in the Harrisonburg, VA inn during past trips down I-81, but will seriously consider stopping a few miles earlier to return to this property.

Room Tip: High floor, away from the elevator.

My boyfriend and I stayed here in October 2011 while passing through Shenandoah National Park. The building is new and the rooms are clean, but looks can be deceiving. I could hear EVERYTHING all of our neighbors were doing, including children horsing around until late at night and a couple's sex-capades at 5:00 in the freaking morning. I'd gladly trade the hot tub and free continental breakfast for a good night's sleep. I would not recommend this hotel.
