This is a top notch Comfort Inn property. The staff was VERY nice and you can tell this property takes great pride in keeping this place in tip top shape!

I stayed in a suite and here are some minor reasons why the property didn't get 5 stars: I believe a suite should have a separate sitting room (like a living room) with a door leading to the actual bedroom/sleeping area. It isn't the fault of the manager or staff of this property via the design, but a suite in my opinion should be bigger than a standard room that has two queen beds in it. A sofa with half a wall sticking out with only one tv in the entire room isn't my idea of a suite. The sign for "Comfort Inn" to turn into is very small and you can miss the entrance especially if you aren't using a GPS. The road you need to be on is (Motel Drive) between Burger King and Taco Bell when you come off of VA route 42.

Also in my room, the drapes didn't close all the way at the top so all the natural light came in instead of it being blacked out. The a/c unit was a little loud too, but not overbearing, so earplugs and a sleep mask came into my sleeping regiment that evening. However, that's something some or most people can put up with. I am just a real sensitive sleeper. The bed was just fine (which I am picky about beds) and I did like the different pillow types from hard to firm but I always bring my own from home.

The area was very well lit, easy access to the fairgrounds, enough fast food chains & gas stations close at hand, easy on and off freeway access and a Wal-Mart is just right across the bridge which is open 24 hrs a day. Don't let the middle paragraphs fool you, this was by far a very good experience and I would stay here again anytime I travel in this area on business.

PS

If you are going to enjoy the free breakfast, tip the breakfast staff member cleaning up $1 or $2 bucks and/or even the housekeepers. The people working at this property bust their bottom keeping it spic and span and they truly appreciated the kind gesture. Not many hotels (even high end ones) keep the breakfast area and rooms as neat, organized & dust free as this property does. I am not for tipping all the time in my hotel stays, but when someone goes out of their way to make sure your satisfied, then why not give a couple of bucks as a thank you!

The range of comfort ,value and safety went from let's check out right now to darn I wish all our stays could be like this! This Comfort Inn was our last stop before making it back to Vermont. After driving 5 of the 10 days of our vacation It was nice to book a room at 9pm and even though it wasn't a ADA accessible room as I would have like, they had a King size bed with a huge bathroom was more than adequate to maneuver my wheelchair in! The staff was great The Room was great, the bed the most comfortable, The basically full breakfast spread was by far freshest and most variety of all our stays, even had biscuit & gravy! My next trip down through Virginia will be a planned stop at The Comfort Inn Woodstock VA & yours should be too.

We want all our guests to have the best stay possible where everything exceeds their expectations and it is always a pleasure to read when we have accomplished that goal. It is unfortunate that we did not have one of our accessible rooms available when you checked in, but we are so glad to hear that the King room you stayed in was more than adequate to meet your needs. We truly appreciate your comments on our comfortable accommodations, great staff and complimentary breakfast buffet.

On behalf of the entire Woodstock Comfort Inn Staff, thank you for trusting us with your hotel needs while in Woodstock. We appreciate your recommendation to other travelers and we look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit.

Went to Virginia to pick up new puppy. We thought we would break up the trip for the little girl and get a hotel room. Found Comfort Inn along the way and since it was pet friendly we stopped there. Front desk was very friendly. Check in was a breeze even though we didn't have a reservation.
Rooms were very clean and the bed comfortable. Loved all the pillows on bed.
Had a nice size field behind the hotel to walk the puppy.
Close to a lot of fast food restaurants and stores. We had a great stay!

This is the best 2 star hotel that you'll ever stay at....and better than most 4 star hotels! Why? Because they care! About everything! We stayed with a large dog for one night (Christmas Eve) in an immaculately clean, very nice room....king bed with lots of room, medium-size refrigerator, coffee/tea maker and other amenities (doggy "present" with poop bag and biscuit). Ten minutes after check-in the front desk called the room to make sure that everything was satisfactory. Large field behind hotel to walk dog in and take care of his business. Christmas morning present hanging on room doorknob (homemade cookies, Xmas pen and notepad, hot choc packets). Very complete and clean breakfast buffet included in room price. Super nice staff. Quiet hotel rooms with comfortable bed and pillow choices!! LOVED IT! Woodstock is a cute little town too.

We are Choice Privilege members so have stayed at quite a few Comfort Inns around the country. This is by far the best one yet. We actually thought it was a new one because everything looks so well kept. We couldn't believe it when the manager told us it was 15 years old. She has been here a year and a half and seems to take great pride in her facility. Some have mentioned the pet friendly atmosphere and we have seen only one dog here tonight. No sign in our room that a pet has been present. Would definitely recommend this place and we would stay here again if our travel permitted.

'Best Comfort Inn Ever' is such an awesome way to begin a review. We are so delighted that you enjoyed your stay at our Comfort Inn Woodstock so much. Our manager and in fact all of our staff do take great pride in their hotel. As you noted, while we are a pet friendly hotel our high standards of consistent cleanliness enable the hotel to create an environment that is satisfactory to both guests traveling with pets and those traveling without pets. Thank you for your recommendation to other travelers and we hope that your travels will permit you to make a return visit.

On the way home from a long trip, I had to make an unexpected late night stop. I happened upon this hotel and what a great choice! It was so lovely! The lobby was decorated with such homey autumn touches that it was evident it was not a cookie cutter hotel and that the management took pride in it. A replica of a vintage popcorn machine was in the dining room providing [great smelling!] snacks for guests. The room itself was great: very clean - and included a refrigerator, microwave, ironing board, etc. Another nicetie that hotels this size don't always feature is doors around the building that open with the key card. That was SO handy since we didn't get to park near the main entrance. Breakfast was delicious - waffles, pastries, scrambled eggs, etc. with a very friendly man who went around to make sure we had all we needed. Fresh fruit would have been a nice addition, however.
I hope to stay in a Comfort Inn like this again! (Other plusses - right off the interstate, Cracker Barrell and WalMart are right there if you need anything)

Room Tip: I was on the 3rd floor on the back and was pleased with how quiet it was.
