While the outside is on the ordinary side, the inside is a delightful Bistro with great ambience, fantastic food and attentive service. We went on a Friday night, which was a big mistake with regard to the very heavy traffic from Alexandria, so we arrived late and tense. The empathetic hostess totally put us at ease and with in a few minutes we were seated and ordering cocktails. The dinner menu offered many options and our waiter was on hand to answer our questions and offer suggestions. Our meal was excellent as was the wine list. Our experience clearly was worth the hassle factor in getting there.

Though on the pricey side, this is a great little French restaurant. The ambience is warm, and formal enough for a date night or special event. I've eating here a few times, most recently for a girls' night out, and have been pleased with each meal.

Standouts: the fried oysters, seared scallops, and lamb shank are all FANTASTIC
Good: the calve's liver is done well, but not as amazing as the items listed above
Best desserts: the chocolate mousse is not to sweet, nice and rich. The creme brulee is a good rendition of the classic dessert.

Don't be fooled by the modest exterior--this is a gem of a restaurant, especially for the location.

I've visited this restaurant quite a few times since opening several years ago. Initially, everything - food, service, ambiance, menu, selection, etc, was wonderful! However, the last several times I've gone, which has been over the last 1- 2 yrs. I still love the service, ambiance and the selection, but the food has been hit and miss, sometimes it's "ok" and sometimes it's not. I'm sad to say that I expect good food at a place such as this every time and that just is not happening. On my last visit I had salmon, very disappointed - I have a similar salmon entree at Parallel Wine Bistro in Ashburn and it is fabulous!

We live nearby and have been to this restaurant often, but I wanted to visit a number of times to put my comments in a broad perspective. First, the ambiance is absolutely five stars. The owner transformed what used to be a dumpy Chinese restaurant that had lain dormant for several years into a quaint and cozy country French dining room reminiscent of nearby metro Washington legend, Auberge Chez François. If you're looking for a stuffy French restaurant, this is not the place. The atmosphere is vibrant, but can be a bit noisy at peak times. The staff graciously welcomes you and is attentive to your needs throughout the evening. Sometimes a bit too attentive, to the point that one could feel rushed. One evening, the service was so fast with each course being served immediately following the preceding one without a break that we had to ask them to hold off the dessert until we consumed the remaining half of the bottle of wine. Not really the kind of experience desired in a fine dining establishment. The food is usually quite good, although fish dishes can be a little bland. Food presentation is quite nice and the wine list balanced to the cuisine. Some dishes can be a little pricey, but overall this restaurant is on par with many upscale eateries in nearby Washington and Baltimore. Each visit has been very enjoyable, but they still need a little tweaking for an overall five stars.

We have been 5-6 times in the last year; each time with outstanding satisfaction. Food and service consistently outstanding. Held a large birthday party here with similar results as intimate dinner for two!
