Unbelieveable views of the waterfalls along trail climbing up and up the mountain. 1.7 miles of hiking to the top (end)

Fun to visit at various seasons; Fall is spectacular, Spring is fun, Summer is cool, I would avoid in the snow. The path follows the falls as it winds up the side of the cliff. Multi-layer water falls from rocks to rocks. Wear sensible shoes as the path can be slippery, especially after rain. There are basic toilets onsite. There are picnic tables where we enjoy a packed lunch. It is totally forested around the falls. The road to the falls from Int 81 is really winding and fun, unless you are sensitive to winding roads.

Don't miss this one! It's our favorite! It is a large and very impressive waterfall. There is a little bench on a bridge right in front of the waterfall. I could just sit there for hours and enjoy watching the waterfall. Parts of the path can be slick so you may want to bring a walking stick. This is a long hike and there are no bathrooms, so use the restroom first. The hike is listed as strenuous and it isn't easy, but it's not as strenuous as a lot of others. Plus it is totally worth it. My 8-year-old was able to get there with ease when we went in October. The hike is a loop, with the waterfall in the middle. I would recommend going back the way you came if you want an easier hike. However, there is a nice stream that you cross over if you take the loop and the stream runs next to the trail and it is very beautiful. Highly recommend Crabtree Falls.

This hike gives you the best views before you summit. Never saw a rating on this hike (even after reading the NPS's boards). Its strenuous. But, it is worth the 3.4 round trip hike

Hiked Crabtree in May with the multi-tiered falls in full run. Well maintained and easy to hike trail up the side of the ridge. Many up close views of the falls. Very enjoyable.
