“Typical Hotel......Very Hard Beds”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 20, 2014

We stayed here for a surprise 50th anniversary party. The location was great as the venue was only about a mile away. The hotel is beautiful, just as you would expect. When I arrived I had to wait at least 10 minutes for someone to come out of the back to check us in. The lady was pleasant, the key and room was ready. They were helpful in give me directions. The room was on the small side, no fridge in the room. I asked if they could provide a fridge, they did. We had a king room with a sofa bed. I told the front desk that we had an extra person in the room, when it came for bed time the sofa bed was not made, at 11:00 PM I called the front desk they sent up sheets and a filthy blanket. Had to call back again for a new blanket. I called house keeping for an extra set of towels they arrived promptly, however for such a big chain, the towels were gray, hard and dingy. And of course the bed was like sleeping on the floor, I hate hard beds.

Everything was exactly what you would expect. Very nice. Breakfast was really good. Our omelettes were done perfectly. Not at all oily. We got the breakfast special when we booked our room and it was worth it. Location was convenient too. Just a few mikes from the historical part of town.

We love to stay here for several reasons- there is a breakfast that has everything from waffles to cereal to egg & sausage. If you like oatmeal, there are raisins and walnuts to add to it. Also, there are 4 or 5 restaurants in the shopping center next to the hotel. Try the Italian or Habachi restaurants - it's even 10%off if you show your key. The price is reasonable and if you use your Marriot points, it's only 7,500 points. Ask for a 2 bedroom suite - Hotel built 4-5 years ago - clean and neat. Enjoy!

Room Tip: Ask for a2 bedroom suite. you might get an upgrade.

Marriotts are consistent, what they do they do well enough .Stayed here for a wedding nearby, no complaints no surprises. They have a bar but we didn't go there .It is convenient to Winchester medical center.Livestock sale is across the street but we didn't smell anything

I just returned from an overnight stay at this hotel. The girl at the front desk was wonderful, friendly, and professional making check-in a breeze. The room itself on the second floor facing the back of the property was fine and had a refrigerator, coffee maker, and flat screen tv. The king size bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was good size. The only complaint I have is the placement of the tv. It is off to the side on the desk and is very difficult to see from the bed especially from the side closest to the tv. The problem is the placement of the armoire right next to the tv. The continental breakfast which was complimentary with my room was adequate. For $2 more, I could have opted for the hot breakfast which I did not do. There is a bar open after 5 pm and complimentary coffee and tea in the lobby area. The check out was easy too and the man behind the desk was very friendly. The parking area is large too. All in all, it was well worth the stay.

On our way home from a long road trip doing the entire Blue Ridge Parkway & Shenandoah, we stopped for a night in quaint Winchester at the Courtyard. Liked it's proximity to the highway we needed in the AM. The rest was just average. We had 2 beds, a bathroom all in 1 room, no mirror in the room so couldn't do my hair or make up if hubby was in the bathroom. Should have asked for handicapped room as the toilet was low down & there was nothing close by to use to get up with - have bad knees. Can usually manage if the tub or vanity is close enough; but not in the Courtyard design. Room for a fridge but no fridge in there, so we had to haul up our whole cooler. Good internet hook up. Beds were comfy. Heard a pounding or hammering noise outside at 4AM. Then the traffic noise started up at 5:30AM. OK so now I'm awake too early. No free breakfast & higher room rates than other options. We didn't see any advantage to staying at this location.
