We travel through Winchester frequently. This was a combination business/pleasure trip and we had our 2 small children with us. The last time through town, we stayed in another chain hotel further out of town and were less than impressed so we thought we would try Wyndham this time. It was fantastic and we would definitely stay here again!
We had read previous reviews and were prepared for the parking situation. That said, it was November and even with a wedding that weekend, we had no problem finding parking in the lot adjacent to the hotel. Considering that the hotel is located in the heart of the town, you really can't complain abut $5/day for parking. Very reasonable. The interior of the hotel is such a treat since they have done their best to preserve the historical architecture while staying modern. The staff was friendly and our room was delightful. The beds were small but extremely comfortable. My husband and kids used the pool and commented that it was clean and well maintained. (They did mention it was a bit cold, though.) Breakfast at the restaurant in the hotel was reasonably priced, although the Sunday buffet wasn't quite as advertised (the flyer advertised yogurt and cereal but no such luck). Still, the food was good and the presentation was lovely. Service was a bit slow and there were only 3 other tables in the restaurant so we were left with cold coffee once or twice. But again, our overall stay was enjoyable. This would be a great spot for a romantic getaway. Would stay here again.
