“Warm and welcoming with impeccable attention to comfort and details”
Reviewed August 31, 2009

We traveled through Winchester on our way home and decided a couple of days in advance to stay at a B&B. The Old Waterstreet Inn was the first that popped up on a search. It is a delightful old Virginia home, an historic landmark in Old Town Winchester, that feels like home. Sophisticated yet comfy, tasteful decor, with numerous thoughtful creature comforts and attention to detail. The Friday evening wine and cheese were exceptional, and it provided a lovely opportunity to come to the sitting room to meet other guest travelers. The bedroom accommodations also boasted impeccable attention to the tiniest of details. Very lovely. Very comfortable bed, pillows, shower, towels. Subtly pleasing fragrances. Cozy and serene reading area. Scrumptious breakfast. Delightful and sociable hosts that made their home feel like our home. I'm hoping we can make this Winchester get-away a yearly tradition.

This Inn is a wonderful old home with a rich history and thoughtful details. Our hostess, Jeannie greeted us graciously and efficiently. She also had great recommendations for things to see and do in the local Winchester area. We stayed in the Cottage Inn Suite on the 3rd floor which featured a sitting room and essentially a floor all to ourselves! It was wonderful and more private that many B&B's. Quality everywhere: the furnishings, the linens, and of course, the wonderful breakfast (Jeannie -- I've been DREAMING about banana nut spice pancakes since!).

This is a wonderful Inn in a charming old city. Besides the lovely appointments, gracious hospitality, and the tasty and filling breakfast, the Friday evening wine and cheese hour was a nice touch which we enjoyed with another very nice couple. Intimate yet private.

NOTE: The pedestrian mall on Friday evening featured great outdoor dining options as well as lots of community driven activity (music, classic cars, artists, shops!). Our stay was highlighted by lunch *and* dinner at One Block West. Outstanding creative cuisine featuring the freshest local ingredients possible.

We'll be back the first chance we get!

My wife and I stayed at the Old Water Street B&B over a weekend in mid May. We selected this place in historic Winchester, VA largely because of the favorable reviews we had read on Trip Advisor. We were looking for a nice place to stay while attending our son's graduation from Shenandoah University. This B&B certainly lived-up to its billing, in every respect. A beautiful home with excellent accomodations, very hospitable and non-intrusive proprietors. The breakfasts were also a delight. Overall - a fantastic experience.

My husband and I live just outside of Washington, DC. Every other month or so we love to get away for the weekend and are always looking for charming B&B's within a few hours drive. We are so fortunate to have discovered the Old Waterstreet Inn! It is a beautiful, lovingly-restored historic home on a quiet street in the historic district of Winchester, VA. Our room (the Winesap) was extremely comfortable, spacious, and well-appointed. It had a working fireplace (from November - March I believe), sitting area, 3 large windows with a lovely view, and bathroom with multiple-jet shower, and radient-heat flooring. AND a selection of firm or down pillows!
There is an afternoon wine and cheese hour on weekends -- a great way to meet fellow guests and/or just relax in the living room before dinner -- and the breakfasts are fabulous. And last, but definitely not least, are the owners, Jeannie and Erik, who are incredibly warm and inviting and anxious to make your stay a memorable one. We would definitely recommend this B&B!!

My wife and I were thrilled with the Old Waterstreet Inn...as much with the building itself as we were with Jeannie and Eric, the innkeepers. They are both very nice and accommodating people who made us feel right at home, yet respected our privacy. They enabled a very enjoyable weekend getaway for us. If you are looking for a B&B in an impressive, historic building, but with all the modern touches you would expect, plus fantastic breakfast, and a perfect location for strolls into Old Town Winchester, this is the place for you.

My wife and I traveled over 5+ hours to enjoy the Wonderful Hospitality of Jeannie and Erik at Old Waterstreet Inn. (Other Inn guests were luckier to live much closer!) We chose Winchester, VA to meet our Adult son over Easter weekend (He traveled 4+ hours from the opposite direction.) We booked two rooms (Mr. Moore's Study & The Winesap Room) for two nights and could not have been happier. Believe me - after all the drive-time we invested, if the place had not been Great, I'd be chomping at the bit to say so ... But, Old Waterstreet Inn WAS GREAT !

We enjoyed complimentary wine and cheese on both Friday and Saturday evenings and Breakfast - which included a Hot Entree - on Saturday and Sunday mornings. The Inn was well laid-out for comfort and enjoyment and we spent several hours over the course of the weekend relaxing and conversing in the 2nd floor Sunroom.

Both our rooms were nicely furnished and each had its own private bath and induividual thermostats. Beds were comfortable, towels were fluffy and hot water never ran out, no matter how long your shower lasted. (Experienced B&B travelers know how important that little detail can be!). The availability of complimentary Wi-Fi was also appreciated.

Overall, the Inn was clean, comfortable and inviting - not stuffy - a clear reflection of its owners' personalities. Jeannie was kind enough to book dinner reservations for the three of us on Saturday evening (which included a special made-to-order entree) and the meal was outstanding.

My observation was that each of the other guests were enjoying their time at Old Waterstreet Inn, but I certainly cannot speak for them directly. However, we noted that some folks were there for special occasions and some for just a quick get-away weekend. Some were there for one night but most for two. All were delightful to meet and the Inn layout and staggered breakfast schedule provided just the right amount of meet-and-greet time without making you feel you were thrust into a long drawn-out period of "breakfast with strangers".

We would definately stay at Old Waterstreet Inn again and would highly encourage you to give it a try no matter what your reason for traveling to Winchester.

For the record, neither I, my wife nor our son has any affiliation with either Jeannie or Erik or Old Waterstreet Inn and, prior to making our booking several weeks ago, we had never heard of them or their Inn. Like you, probably, we searched on the Internet and consulted Trip Advisor and made our selection on that basis. We could not have been happier and hope you have a similar experience. I believe you will. ENJOY !

Jeannie and Erik were great, we stayed in the suite on the third floor, which was very private and was the perfect getaway spot.. Breakfast was delicious and very adequate. We would definately recommend the Old Waterstreet Inn.
