“Outstanding!”
Reviewed May 11, 2008

My husband and I had a truly outstanding meal here! It is a smallish, quiet restaurant with attentive (but not overly fussy) service. The menu changes daily and features local and seasonal ingredients. We loved the fact that the web site encourages customers to "dress comfortably," We are used to Washington DC restaurants and prices and the quality of this restaurant more than stands up to anything we have had in the DC area. It's an excellent choice if you are anywhere near Winchester.

“Eloquent Atmosphere and Sensational Cuisine!”
Reviewed November 26, 2007

A group of my friends chose to dine here after hearing a remarkable review of the restaurant from another close friend. This place lived up to its expectations!

The atmosphere was relaxed yet sophisticated and professional. The food was exceptional. Everything from the appetizer, entrée, dessert, even the coffee was divinely delicious. I ordered a spinach salad with soy dressing for an appetizer, grilled seasoned monk fish as my entrée, and this splendid French chocolate dessert. Everything exceeded my expectations.

The best thing about this restaurant is the chef creates a different menu each day based on what foods are in season, so you could never get bored with this place; or at least, I never will. I can’t wait to go back!!!

“Fantastic Creations Featuring Foods from the Shenandoah Valley”
Reviewed October 11, 2006

Creative and talented chef/owner Ed Matthews specializes in showcasing the finest local and organic products from the Shenandoah Valley. He changes the menu daily. We started the evening off with a superb house smoked fish and potato salad. A nightly special of rabbit in a Dijon mustard cream sauce and wild boar osso bucco were ours for the tasting. The evening ended with a scrumptious chocolate bread pudding and a carefully chosen selection of local handcrafted artisanal cheeses. Fabulous!
