Chef Franco does an excellent job creating great Northern Italian cuisine and a welcoming atmosphere! Breaking into song to celebrate special occasions, he makes this a very special dining venue!

After many years, Violinos continues to excel at Italian cuisine...The chefs are seasoned with skill, they use fresh ingredients to make every dish outstanding. Three of us had fish dishes, which were all very well done, and their presentation was lovely. The veal and steak dishes also got high scores, and the desserts were terrific, especially the tiramisu. Yes, Violino's has an "old world" feel to it, but it is clean and cozy. The live violin music was great, as were Franco's outbursts of beautiful opera. It is a happy, busy place and I continue to recommend it with high praise.

My girlfriend and I had dinner here, and were very unimpressed. The interior design is very gaudy and tacky, with an over abundance of musical instruments mounted on the walls, and an overbearing mint-green color theme. Our waitress came across as snotty, and we didn't see her as often as we should. On 3 occasions (twice by our waitress, and once by the hostess), we witnessed employees walk through the dining room while talking on the phone (presumably taking reservations).
As for the food, our appetizer was very good. It was an anti-pasta special, featuring house-cured meats. It had a little too much acidity, but it was enjoyable regardless. The intermezzo was a warm peach soup, which was strange, but I applaud the adventurousness. For our entrees, my girlfriend had a primavera, which was very oily and bland. I had a tortellini dish, also bland, and the [what was supposed to be] cream sauce was thickened with flour. The pasta in both dishes was very over-cooked.
The best thing we experienced in the restaurant was the busboy. He was very attentive and personable. It crossed my mind to try to persuade him to come work at my restaurant.

This is a lovely and welcoming restaurant. Expect to spend the evening and pace yourself to enjoy the time and the food. The wine list is long with many Italian options at very fair prices. The food was good, especially the extraordinary veal chop. The pasta was ok, not great, and far too many sauces and soups had cream, but other diners may welcome that. The distinctive aspect of the restaurant was the charming live harpist and the delightful personal operatic serenading by Chef/owner Franco. We were very happy to spend the evening in the warm embrace of this Italian family to celebrate our own special occasion.
