Stayed for 2 nights at the Holiday Inn Express as a first stop on an extended cross country tour. This is our first time staying at a Holiday Inn Express (we selected it based on reviews here) and were very happy with the choice.

The staff was great, always cheerful and helpful. The free breakfast was the typical continental affair, but the breakfast area is roomier, sunnier, and generally nicer than most hotels in this price range. (We paid $73 per night, mid-week, non-refundable-rate via the Holiday Inn Express website.)

Our room was very clean and fairly large with a small fridge, coffee machine, and a microwave. Comfortable bed and a rare find...a very quiet, effective air conditioner.

The exercise room was small but uncrowded...2 treadmills, a weight machine and one or two other pieces of equipment all in good shape. There is also an indoor pool, but we didn't use it.

Overall, we thought it was a very good value and a nice place to spend the night. It's a good choice.

Stayed for one night at the hotel as a stopover while traveling further South. Had never stayed in a Holiday Inn Express before and took a chance based on reading a TripAdvisor review. This is one of the newest hotels in the area. We booked a King suite - huge room, tiny kitchen area with frig, sink, and microwave, great bed and bath, Internet access. The bed is more comfortable than the Westin beds - a little firmer and better for my back which was in pain after a long car ride. The continental breakfast that is included with the room rate is better and fresher than similarly priced hotels we have stayed in - range of cold items with a few hot items available. This place is spotless, the staff are helpful, and the hotel has a very nice indoor pool and jacuzzi, as well as a small exercise room. Very close to the new Museum of the Shenendoah Valley. Was not overly impressed with Winchester proper - they seem to be trying to develop the downtown area, but there is not much to see (or eat) at the present time compared to towns like Lexington or Charlottesville.

I was on my way up I-95 when I stopped at the Holiday Inn (NOT the Holiday Inn Express, but another hotel in Winchester) for a night's rest. That hotel was an old motel with outside doors. The clerk was taking forever to check in a Canadian couple, so I took out my notebook and borrowed their wifi to find that there was a HI Express just down the road. I didn't stay there. Instead, after dinner at the Cracker Barrel, I drove down the bypass to the Holiday Inn Express. I'm glad I did.

The people at the HI Express were wonderful. When they found out that I was a Priority Rewards member, they upgraded my room to a beautiful suite. The only downside was that it faced the back of the hotel where there was an exit ramp from the Winchester bypass. There was a lot of truck traffic during the night. If you can, ask for a room facing the front of the hotel and you should be fine.

The bathroom was immaculate and the hot shower felt great. Breakfast in the morning with a cup of coffee to go was just what I needed to get me going. I would definitely stay here agin.

I was traveling home from visiting family. I'd planned to wing it the first night and had booked a room in Harrisonburg, VA for the second night. Well, go figure, I got to Winchester on the first night and this Holiday Inn Express was the first hotel I came to, well-advertised on Highway 522 leading into town from the northwest.

I was dead tired by the time I arrived, but pleasantly surprised that a spacious, upper floor room was available -- and as a walk-in customer too! The room was clean, quiet, the gas station next door had great food (no, really, I'm not kidding) and the breakfast the next morning was more than adequate to get me on my way.

I'm going to be passing through Winchester again this month and I was disappointed to find that the HI Express was booked solid for the night I needed. But I'm not surprised!

I stayed at this hotel for a few days over labor day weekend.

The staff seemed very helpful and friendly.
The cleaning staff was very quick, courteous and thorough - I was very happy with them.

The room was very comfortable and bathroom had adequate space. My room had a fridge, microwave and coffee pot.

The products they supply (soap, shampoo, cond., lotions, towels/cloth) all seem to be of good quality.

They have an indoor pool and spa. I was concerned that the pool didn't appear too clean, so I decided against using it.

They did not have wireless internet, only wired in the rooms. The internet was a bit slow, but it was free and I was very glad to have it. They also have free use of the PC in the lobby/ground floor area as well.

The fitness room was useful... just a few pieces of equipment, but all of the necesseties.

Parking was easy, since you could use your room key to get into any door around the building.

Breakfast was served 6:00am to 10:00am sharp. Nice variety.

There is a grocery store, gas station and fast food very near - so nicely located.

Laundry room was out of order at the time we were there, but the staff pointed out a laundry facility nearby.

All in all, I would definitely stay there again if necessary.
