Abram's Delight is the oldest house in Winchester and definitely worth a visit. There are regular guided tours of the 3-story house, which are extensive, informative, and fun. I learned a lot about the Hollingsworth family (from the original settler Abraham in 1728 through 5 generations) and the times in which they lived. Lots of period artifacts, pictures, furniture, etc. Purchase tickets and start your tour at the old mill next door, which also houses a small exhibition space, gift shop, and rest rooms.

We had purchased the 3 House Tour package, and this one was the last one we visited. It was hot and muggy, and our feet were really tired from all the walking. They close at 4 pm, and we got here at 3:15, so already there was not that much time. Had it been a self-guided tour, we would have done it, but were just too tired to go through another guided tour.

Therefore, we only toured this house from the outside, but did visit, and spend some time in the Hollingsworth Mill, which is also the Admissions Office, Gift Store, and a small museum. Many exhibits from World War I.

We visited as part of a three package tour, which included Stonewall Jackson Headquarters and George Washington’s Office. There are three buildings on the site—a building that was the grist mill and is now the visitor center for the museum, the house itself and a small log cabin. While the young docent seemed interested in the house and history generally, this just wasn’t the best house tour I’ve been on so I can't bump it to four stars.

A very nice piece of Winchester history. Docents were dressed in period clothing and were very knowledgeable

Wifee and I showed up at this place after lunch. It was not crowded and we had a personal guided tour from Sherry. There is a beautiful lake nearby which would have been great place for us to eat a sack lunch.
