My husband and I enjoyed our 7th (8th?) stay at the Fife & Drum Inn this past October. It was our 2nd stay in 2013, and we can't imagine being anywhere else when we visit "Billsville." The location, in Merchant's Square, can't be beat. You step out the door, and stroll down the street to shop, visit the Colonial Village, or enjoy a wonderful meal at any of the taverns or restaurants. The rooms are charming, and breakfast is always delicious! Parking is only a few steps away. The innkeepers, Billy & Sharon, are wonderful and share their knowledge of the local area. The only negative thing about the Fife and Drum Inn is that we have to leave it.

Room Tip: We love the Cedars Suite, it is has a sitting area, and it's own entrance to the back porch. Another favorite room is the Webster-Hitchens, as a corner room it has a lot of natural light.

My wife and I wanted to spend a fall weekend visiting Colonial Williamsburg from November 8-10 and I searched for lodging and was fortunate enough to find the Fife and Drum Inn. This is a wonderful little Bed and Breakfast with a separate cottage called the Drummer's Cottage, which we decided to stay in. The location is perfect for the walk around Colonial Williamsburg. Billy was wonderful during our check-in and very informative about the different restaurants around Merchant's Square and the several attractions and tours we could visit. Our cottage was very nice, so much, we felt like we were home. If you visit Colonial Williamsburg, this is the place to stay for the experience of a lifetime. We highly recommend Billy and staff at the Fife and Drum Inn for your excursion into the past. Great job Fife and Drum Inn. We'll be back!

Room Tip: Reserve the Drummer's Cottage for a more intimate experience.

We stayed two nights at the Fife and Drum with our guests visiting from Austria. The facility was very cozy, comfortable, and immaculate. The location could not be better... right next to Merchants Square. The morning breakfasts were excellent... homemade... preset tables and linen napkin service. Good, free parking. Staff at the inn were very knowledgeable and eager to provide assistance in all aspects of our stay. They provided advice on places to visit in Williamsburg, Jamestown, and the historic plantation areas. Our Austrian friends were very impressed with The Fife and Drum as were we also. I would highly recommend them as a reat place to stay while visiting Williamsburg.

This is a charming B and B that is smack dab in the middle of the historic section of Williamsburg and all of it's sights. It is also just across the street from the College of William and Mary, so very convenient if that is your reason for a visit. Our room was spotless, comfortable and charmingly decorated. Breakfast was wonderful--ham biscuits, fruit, granola and apple bread pudding. Tea, lemonade and cookies are out at all times. We hit a rainy day, so enjoyed a bit of down time in the lounge area reading and watching TV. We will return here. Thank you for the nice visit.

Located within walking distance of Colonial Willamsburg & some fine restaurants & with parking available only two minutes' walk away, this must be the best location in Willamsburg. The quality of the rooms & the warm welcome more than match the location. A great B & B!
