We selected this B&B because of the pictures on the website and we were so pleased with our choice. The location is great, only a half mile from history Williamsburg and very close to William and Mary college. The hostess is a very nice lady (with 2 adorable dogs), who happily chats with guests, offers directions and recommended all three of our dinner restaurant choices. My room, the Tree Top Suite, was beautifully decorated (as is the entire house), with a comfortable bed, fireplace, mini frig and a sitting room. Wonderfully relaxing after a day of sightseeing. Each morning we were treated to wonderful food with fresh seasonal fruit. Her baking is extra treat, pumpkin cookies and cherry & white chocolate chip cookies. I cannot recommend Applewood strongly enough.

Room Tip: If you like a bit of space, I highly recommend the Tree Top Suite. It is the entire 3rd floor, with...

If you are seeking a home away from home in Colonial Williamsburg, the Applewood Colonial Bed and Breakfast is the place for you. We have never stayed at a more hospitable bed and
breakfast than here. We stayed in the Treetop Suite, which was clean, cozy, and comfortable.
The mattress on the queen sized bed was heaven to sleep on. Denise, the ower, went the extra mile to ensure that we and all her guests were happy. The Applewood Colonial Bed and Breakfast has raised the bar on comfort and care for the B&B industry.

We booked our room at the Applewood after a quick visit to the website, because of its availability and proximity to the William & Mary campus. What a great choice! Our room was beautifully decorated, with thoughtful touches like a corkscrew and wineglasses on the bureau and cold drinks in the mini-fridge. The bed was one of the most comfortable we've ever had, and the towels were thick and fluffy. Breakfasts here are amazing; always a combination of sweets, savories and fruit. And the afternoon cookies are wonderful! Denise is a gracious hostess and really made our W&M Homecoming weekend even more special. We definitely plan to return!

Room Tip: Each of the suites is lovely and includes a private bath.

A party of 3, we all really enjoyed our time at this B&B, so peaceful and beatuful and confortable. Many acts of kindness by the hostess (advices, help with driving us back and forth to the train station); great conversations with the hostess; sweet dogs. Just a lovely experience.

Quick contact from Denise, the owner, when I began my research. She was informative and reserved the room as soon as I was ready. The Treetop Suite on the 3rd floor is lovely- a terrifically comfortable queen size bed with chairs and an upholstered bench. The doors close to the suite's living room which allowed my husband to wake up well before me, make coffee and access the web on our iPad in our attached living room. There's a small fridge (stocked with soda and water bottles) and a coffee maker with packets to perk. We bring our own coffee and maker when we travel. Breakfast was downstairs around a table with another couple who were regulars at the B+B. Denise made delicious hot breakfasts, always with a side of bacon, and we were treated to her hashbrown omelette one day and her "famous" baked oatmeal the next, both very filling. What pleased me greatly was the nice portion of fresh berries/fruits on each breakfast plate. Every late afternoon we were treated to a variety of freshly baked cookies.
Denise is lively and full of stories. The B+B is a 10-15 minute walk to Merchants' Row, filled with restaurants, cafés, and shops and just across the street from the College of William and Mary. Parking is either in front of the B+B on Richmond Road or behind the house. There's a patio with table and chairs and an umbrella which is accessible to all.
Applewood is extremely reasonable, very clean, with great thick towels and nice bed linens.
My only mini-criticism is that there's one thermostat for the 3 rooms and the other couple's room was clearly warmer than ours, so they lowered the temp, which then made our room very cold. We added the warm comforter at night which helped.
Colonial Williamsburg is just beyond Merchants' Square, an easy 15 minute walk.
If you go, make sure you check the calendar for "Thomas Jefferson's" speech. He's fabulous, as are the other people working at Colonial Williamsburg.

Room Tip: Go for Treetop Suite- reasonably priced, private and comfortable!

I highly recommend this B&B for anyone traveling to Williamsburg, especially if visiting the College of William & Mary. The inn is just a block from campus, with free parking on the side street. There are only 3 rooms, and the innkeeper Denise is very accomodating. For graduation last weekend, we requested and received: 1) early check-in, 2) late check-out, and 3) an extra breakfast (for our graduate) ... all for no extra charge! There are freshly baked cookies in the living room, and sodas in the room mini-frig. The room was very nicely appointed.
