If you are a foodie, you must visit Chef's Kitchen in Williamsburg, VA. We went for our anniversary on Jan. 4. Reservations are a must....they sell-out 30-60 days in advance. From my first phone call to make reservations, to buying wine at the end of the evening, everything was great! Menus are available on their website. Menus change monthly, so check on line before you reserve. You arrive at 6:15 and pay for dinner ($85 plus tax and tip per person). There is a small shop to browse. At 6:30 you are welcomed by Chef John and his assistant Chef with champagne and appetizers (gouda and blue cheese apps the evening we went). Then you visit with other attendees and sip champagne while pianist serenades you for half an hour. Dinner begins promptly at 7:00. Seats are assigned and it is classroom seating for 28....tiered seating so not a bad seat in the house. Recipes are at your place setting. Chef John and his assistant cook and explain their techniques, ingredients, tips and methods for the next 2 and a half hours. You can ask questions at any time and they are so friendly. Willing to chat before and after dinner. Dinner is 5 courses and 3 glasses of wine. (If you like the wine it is available for $10 a bottle to purchase at the end of the evening.) (They also serve water for everyone and beer and soda if you don't like wine and tell them this in advance.) The food, service, attention to detail and friendliness of everyone at Chef's Kitchen makes this a must do! I highly recommend this experience and can't wait until we can return!
