This is a must when we go to Williamsburg even if we aren't visiting DOG street. The sandwiches with House dressing are amazing and always so fresh. It is worth any wait in line but if you can try to order on the phone ahead of time (you can look up the phone number and menu online) and pick it up at their side window to avoid a lunchtime wait.

Friendly staff, a bit of a wait for a family of 5, but I'd do it all over for that chicken salad. Great outside eating area. Very clean. $35 for family of 5.

I was thinking this was a restaurant - they do have food and a patio to eat, but this is more of a wine and cheese store. the food was just ok and the wine was good. Nice variety of chips to choose from. You shop while they cook your food (which took a long time) and then you check out with food and everything else. Neat place to Shop, not eat. they close early too, I was looking forward to sitting out on the patio with wine and a cheese platter later after dinner,...

I visited the Wind and Cheese shop in Merchant's Square (Williamsburg). That is fine. I know nothing of the place shown in the photograph.

Great, fresh sandwiches at reasonable prices. Always a line in summer but worth the wait or (local secret) call in your order and avoid the line. My favorite is the combo, turkey and salty, thinly shaved Virginia ham on fresh baked french bread with havarti and house sauce (I believe it's grainy mustard and mayo mixed together). Grab a bottle of locally made rootbeer, bag of chips and find an outdoor table to enjoy the people watching!
