Got there about 10 am on a Monday. There were a few tables occupied. Have to agree with the other reviews about the "hostess." Couldn't be bothered to walk a few extra steps and instead just pointed at a table for us to go to. Amazing.
Took a while for the waitress to get to us; not sure what she was doing...
The outfits are kinda silly looking, and the place would benefit from hiring some younger staffers to pick up the pace.
The food came eventually, but really wasn't worth the prices charged. Scrambled eggs were only half cooked. Virginia ham was very thinly sliced. Hash browns were disgusting, inedible.
Coffee was ok, but I only had one cup since no one came by to offer a refill.
There have got to be better choices in Williamsburg!

We didn't think to check because, really, how bad can a pancake house be? Oh man. We were there early but still had to wait an excruciatingly long time for the food, and we never got checked on in the meantime. The decor is seriously dated, dirty and the bathrooms weren't ventilated. And the food... Our pancakes were mushy. I had the Denver omelette with either Velveeta or Kraft slices as the cheese. The eggs were not seasoned when cooked. All of the grilled breakfast meats had a "fishy" aftertaste from the grill, an even the hash- browns tasted like over-greased-from-frozen. Obviously a local staple because of the sheer number of tourists, but I can't believe this place is still in business.

What a wonderful surprise to walk into a restaurant and to be greeted by a hostess in costume! And to be waited on by wait staff in costume! It was so delightful and charming! I felt so pampered! It was truly a refreshing and beautiful place to be, to relax, and to enjoy good food!
I rate ''Mama Steve's the top pancake house in Williamsburg.
