Walk across Merchant Square onto the William and Mary campus and explore the Wren Building. You can go on a self guided tour of the building exploring its history.

“A lot of History”
Reviewed March 17, 2013

When we left Kimball Theater, we took the short walk to the Wren Building to see what the hype was all about! The nice thing about this is there is no charge to walk through and take pictures. The building is absolutely beautiful!

“Free to walk through”
Reviewed March 11, 2013

I liked seeing the school room with the master's chair. Make sure you go up and down the various staircases to see the chapel and the Harry-Potter like hall on the opposite side. It was also neat to realize that this is a regular university building -- education goes on.

“So much history....”
Reviewed January 11, 2013

This is a gem of a building. The picture shows the chapel wing; the whole building was nominally designed by Sir Christopher Wren, of St. Paul's, London, fame, and very much in keeping with his style...so it's quite possible. The building is one of the oldest on one of the oldest college campuses in the New World. The chapel is open to all faiths, with many weddings and other worship services held throughout the year. Concerts are regularly given by excellent local musicians on the historic organ in the loft.

“Great piece of History”
Reviewed January 7, 2013

It is rare to find such a gem of American history on a college campus. Thomas Jefferson attended as a student. Beautiful building and beautiful campus.
