“Go to the other Sal's!”
Reviewed September 29, 2012

For Saturday lunch five of us went to Sal's Ristorante, then left. Aside from a dull, plain ambiance, the waitress with a do-not-care attitude told us they offer a lunch menu on Saturday so we would need to order off the dinner menu--at higher prices. Given our experience with the better Sal's, we left. BTW the lunch menu at the other Sal's is excellent as was the food.

“Very disappointing pizza!”
Reviewed September 28, 2012

Although the advertising claims Sal's was voted #1 pizza in Italian, it was very disappointing. It made me think I should set up a New York style pizza parlor here! The crust was way too doughy, and the selection of toppings did not match my usual choices (e.g., no roasted red pepper). (We had our oizza delivered, which did not help)

Great Chicken Parm, crispy and delicious. Very Good Sauce! The decor could use some fixing up but food came out in record 10 minutes and our chicken cutlets were fried to perfection. Would eat there again. Great Sauce, very fresh. Bread could have been better it was a bit stale. Garlic knots for garlic bread should have been offered. But other than that food was very good.

“Save your money”
Reviewed September 16, 2012

The kids' meals are $6.95 (entree only; no sides) and very small portions. My kid's meatball was gooey and tasted terrible, and none of us could choke it down. My husband's chicken marsala looked like it came from a baby chick instead of a chicken; the portion size there was also well under what you'd expect for a $15.95 lunch entree. I was the only one satisfied with my meal, a $7 chicken parmagiana sub (zero creativity on that one, but the chicken was good). They did accept the 10% off coupon with no problem, but we left quite unhappy over what we got for the price. And (except for me) still hungry.

One last note: the music sounded like some very bad karaoke. Oh dear. That was painful.
