My wife and I while visiting historic Williamsburg discovered Seafare. We were pleasantly surprised at how elegant and sophisticated the staff and restaurant were, formal table clothe and a wonderful and efficient service staff. The food was good but not exceptional. My wife had the crab cakes and I had the seafood platter. We consider ourselves seafood snobs because we are from DC and grew up with blue crabs and "Maryland" style crab cakes. We enjoyed the fact that the crab cakes were made from lump meat and no fillers, the problem was the seasoning, crabs require obay seasoning not rosemary and thyme! The calamari was delicious as well as the oysters. Service was superior and based on that alone we will revisit the Seafare again.

In Williamsburg to celebrate our anniversary--we ate at The Seafare both nights!! We were not disappointed! The seafood is absolutely delicious, the portions are huge and the service was fantastic! The crabcakes were full of lump crab meat with little filler. The fried seafood platter had very generous portions of flounder, crabcake, scallops, shrimp and oysters--so much we had to bring leftovers back to the room with us! The sauton seafood mix, their specialty, was great! Crab meat, flounder, oysters, shrimp and scallops were cooked in their own juices with mushrooms and red pepper--amazing!!! You have to visit the Seafare when you're in Williamsburg!!!

We stopped there thinking it would be an average place boy were we surprised. We walked in and found a well dressed host and hostess and waiters in black tie. Much to my surprise it is casual dining and extremely good food. Our waiter Rado was very pleasant and a great server. This will be a return visit soon

As we walked into the restaurant we immediately felt out of place and under dressed. We were seated at the table at the end of the isle that has two passage ways and I felt in the way the entire time. We immediately contemplated leaving but our waitress Tina quickly made us feel comfortable and was very helpful with the menu. The shrimp cocktail, fried shrimp, and garlic mashed potatoes were delicious. I was not very fond of the cold slaw. but overall it turned out to be a great restaurant. If you are looking for something elegant this is your place.
