The Colonies at Williamsburg Resort
Certificate of Excellence

The Colonies is an apartment style resort Shower in one bedroom and a combination jacuzzi tub shower. No gas grilles only charcoal. Other complaint pool and hot tub open at 9:00 am. No exceptions. Hot tub is outside and uncovered. Now for the plus. An amazing check-in which is fast and accomadating . If you have requests call ahead and they will do their best to accommodate. The two bedroom is sufficient . Kitchen a little small with the table up in it. Great hot showers and very large in one bedroom. Good bed, firm, and pillows are good. Great welcome breakfast with a very nice and gracious hostess. Ideal location and convenient to all attractions, grocery stores and shopping. This is the biggest plus, location. Sufficient time share. Washer and dryer available

Great location- close to shopping and historical sites!! Two bedroom units are very spacious- upstairs units have their own laundry!! Would have loved for the second bedroom to have had two beds (has 1 full)! We did get a cot for a small fee. Activities and pool were great!! Wish the outdoor pool was open- it was plenty warm!

Room Tip: Top level units do not share a laundry! All units very walkable to club house!

This property is outstanding. The ability to link two of the 2 bedroom units together was perfect for our family. The 2 year old was able to stay in touch with his older cousins any time he wanted. The units were well appointed and clean. Kids loved the indoor swimming pool.
Location was perfect, not in local traffic but a short drive to everything. My wife and I did attend a meeting but found the representative to be very professional and not pushy.
Looking forward to returning.......

Room Tip: We chose upstairs rooms despite the lack of elevator. Wanted to insure that we didn't have prob...

Very nice and new. Kids loved the indoor pool. Only complaint was the thin walls. Next time we will try to stay in a bldg closer to the pool. We had the furthest building from the clubhouse although most of the property was vacant. Not fun having to drive over due to freezing temps and snow (yes, snow.)

We just returned from the Colonies at Williamsburg. My family loved it there! We exchanged for a 4 bedroom condo, which is actually 2 - 2 bedroom condos with a connecting hall where there is a stacking washer/dryer combo. Everything was brand new, we were in 3A and B which was 1st floor and walking distance to the clubhouse, just as I requested. We had a problem with ants in one of the bathrooms and maintenance was very efficient. After day 2, we had our building to ourselves so no trouble parking at all. Kids liked the indoor pool and free DVD movies, each had their own room and bathroom in their own 'kid wing'. The phone rang a couple of times, probably sales, but we didn't answer so no timeshare presentation was offered to us but we didn't have time anyway. Quick drive to local attractions and we also went to Washington DC as well. We will definitely visit again, perhaps next summer so we can use the outdoor pool. It looked fantastic! 2 thumbs up!

We have just spent the last 5 days here in Colonial Williamsburg at this property in a 2 bedroom unit. We come annually for a medical meeting which my husband needs to attend so we have stayed at others in the area. This property is fairly new and had all the amenities we needed. It was tastefully decorated and the kitchen was very well equipped. Linens and towels were in great condition and generously provided. The King bed was very comfortable, better than others we have had.
We booked through Interval and we were never approached by anyone from the resort and anything we needed or questions we asked were answered and addressed. The location was very convenient to the outlets and you can get to the "restored area" or Busch Gardens in minutes.
We will definitely return to this property.

The resort is clean. Our 2-bedroom condo was lovely and we had a washer/dryer. We didn't have a problem with noise. It was nice having a kitchen, but unfortunately, there were not good cleaning supplies provided to wash dishes and clean up. The wi-fi was awful - free, but we had to keep logging in over and over every day. The beds were fairly comfortable, but a little firm. The towels were small and stiff in the bathrooms. The resort activities were very lacking. We usually love doing activities at resorts, but none of them were very interesting or fun. The indoor pool at the resort is okay. It's meant for playing, not for swimming. There isn't much of a shallow area, so it's hard for young children to play. Despite all that, we would have really enjoyed our stay if it weren't for dishonest employees at the resort. Early on in our stay, an employee from the front desk called our condo and asked if we would like to go to a free breakfast. I told my husband to tell her no because I didn't want to go to a meeting. She told him that there would be no meeting, that all we had to do was take a short survey about our condo since we were already owners. We got excited about this offer. When my husband went to the front desk to sign up for our breakfast slot, the girl told him that we would also get a $75 gift card or another option from a list she gave him. All we had to do was give her a $10 deposit. Before my husband signed a paper confirming this plan, he once again made sure we didn't have to go to a meeting. She confirmed we didn't. Monday came around and my husband went to pick up our reservation for breakfast. He was then told that we would have to attend a meeting after breakfast in order to go to breakfast and get the gift card. As you can imagine, this really upset my husband because he was told numerous times we didn't have to go to a meeting. He spoke to the manager, and she gave him the runaround saying that was policy. On the paper he signed, it said he would have to go to a meeting. Because he signed it, that was that. My husband was very upset because he saw that on the paper when he signed, but he was reassured we would not in fact have to attend a meeting. The manager said she would have the general manager call my husband to straighten things out. Well, the general manager didn't bend either, just spoke of policy. It didn't matter that the front desk employee lied to us multiple times. No, that didn't matter. The next day, my husband went to pick up his $10 deposit he had made for the gift card we never got. He was told he couldn't get a refund on it, even though the manager the day before told him he could get a refund. Another lie. Because he was upset about that, we actually did end up getting our $10 back, but after a lot of frustration. What we learned here is that this resort has no integrity. The people will lie to you and hide behind policy. You may ask why we didn't just suck it up and go to the meeting. Well, we know from experience that if a meeting is supposed to be 45 minutes, it will actually be at least twice that long. We were on vacation and didn't want to have our three kids sit around when they should be playing and having fun. As owners, we also knew what the meeting was going to be about. It was going to be us one-on one with a person trying to get up to spend more money and upgrade our timeshare - something we are not interested in at all. In fact, Williamsburg Plantation sold us our timeshare under false pretenses too. No, there is no integrity here. Williamsburg is a beautiful place with many fantastic surrounding cities. Stay somewhere else to enjoy them.
