After staying at Powhatan many times we decided to give Greensprings Plantation a try. Check-in was easy, quick and hassle free even when we told them we were not ready to commit to a time-share presentation. They want you to commit after giving you a pressure sale and that is the last thing we wanted to talk about after spending six-hours in a car, but the lady was nice and when I said no she was still nice.

Upon entering the suite the first thing we noticed was that there were roach traps in the suite. The traps were empty, but common sense tells you that the traps are there for a reason and this was the hottest part of the summer. Once we settled in our two-bedroom, two-bath suite I noticed that there was no television channels in the smaller of the two rooms. The TV had no cable it was set up for DVD and games only. Upon further inspection I noticed that two of the air vents had a brown stain on both of them and the others were a normal solid white color. I didn't want to guess what the brown color was on the vents.

The next morning we had to call maintenance because there were numerous problems with the toilets because of a low flush rate and a slow refilling of the bowl. The maintenance crew was excellent and quick and there only two on duty for most of our stay. Don't expect any type of room service, we did not get any during our four-day stay.

Later that night we asked about the bar at the pool and we were told that it was closed but yet the pools were opened. The pools were nice and large. The indoor pools were not heated, but a little warmer than the outdoor pools and the whirlpool were nice if not small.

Parking was tight if you came back after 9 PM which we did every night, but we still manage to find decent parking close by our suites.

This place is a little outdated, but if they put a little money into this place and get an exterminator it could be really nice. Basically, you get what you pay for and this place is fairly cheap and it looks and feels cheap. The mattress feels as though you're sleeping on bricks and the next day you'll pay for it and you'll feel it the entire day.

Stay here if you don't have other options because the location is great.

Cheers

Stayed with our family, daughter and granddaughter etc, five in all.
A few miles from Colonial Williamsburg, but not a problem if you have a car and in our view a better bet from a value for money point of view. Ample sized rooms (we had a two bed condo) and ours was in good condition with view of the golf course, but a few minutes walk from Reception and pool area (which we liked). We were on third floor and there are no lifts, which maybe a problem for some guests.Parking is not a problem and the shops and a supermarket are about a five to six minute drive away.
Would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

Room Tip: If you intend to use the pool area a lot, maybe request a condo not too far away. Also be aware of f...

We had a great time at Greenspring. The unit was nice and clean. The pool and grounds were great. It was close to everything. However, we had one solid day wasted by a horrible timeshare presentation and that experience colored our entire trip. We arrived late for check in and were pressured immediately to go to a "quick" presentation to update us on using our RCI membership. They offered some nice giveaways in exchange. We stupidly agreed. Then the woman put a hold on our credit card for $20, which would be forfeited if we didn't show up. We arrived for the presentation and didn't get out until 4 hours later. We signed something that was supposedly just an acknowledgement of all the wonderful things we were giving up by not buying the timeshare. Now we are wondering what the hell we signed. Horrible. Avoid the timeshare presentation at all costs. It's not worth any of the gifts they give you and avoiding it is worth any attitude you might get from the concierge at check-in. Everything else was great.

Room Tip: Some rooms are very far from the pool, but those are the renovated ones. It depends what is more imp...

Clean, modern 2 BR Condo just a quick drive from Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown Settlement, etc. We stayed with our school-age children, who loved the indoor and outdoor pools. Kitchen has every amenity needed. Close to grocery stores (we did breakfasts and dinner in the condo).
Great value, would stay there again.

Only downside was the front desk insisting we show up for the totally optional timeshare sales pitch - did **not** appreciate the reminder at 8am on our vacation day!

The place we stayed at was a renovated one. It was a 2-bedroom apt with a fully equipped kitchen. There was a Master bedroom(KING bed) with a master bath(shower stall and JETted tub),
2nd bedroom with a Queen bed with a regular sized full bath,a dining room and a living room with a Queen Size Sleeper Sofa. We were 6 adults and 3 kids. They had extra linen as well. When we ran out of clean towels, we were provided with clean ones very quickly.
The beds were very comfortable. If you have a request don't hesitate to ask the front desk.
Monticello mkt place is at a 5 mt driving distance from the Resort.

We booked Greensprings for our annual trip to the Williamsburg theme parks with our toddler and preschooler, and I'd heartily recommend it to anyone, with or without kids!

The security and front desk staff were incredibly friendly, and the grounds were just lovely. The pool is very large, and the organized activities were numerous (although we didn't take advantage of them). My only complaint from a facilities perspective is that they didn't offer recycling. I can vouch for my party being responsible for many empty glass bottles coming out of my unit, and it felt awful to put them into the standard garbage. I called the front desk about it and the person I spoke to laughed and said that just wasn't available but they know they should do it. I actually considered bringing my recyclable garbage home with me!

The location was just perfect. It was a 15-20 minute ride to Busch Gardens, Water Country, and the outlets, which was exactly the right distance. There were only about three turns, too, which is very easy to remember when you're unfamiliar with the area. There was also a grocery store and many gas stations close by and along the way, which made the trip very smooth. If you're considering this spot as your home base, I couldn't recommend it more!

I booked our week-long stay via Expedia months ago, where I was able to request a room where the second bedroom had two twin beds. When we checked in, the condo we got was newly renovated, but the second bedroom had a single queen bed. No good. The front desk was very helpful and moved us to a room that had two twins, and we moved very quickly. It was not a renovated space, but it was in perfect condition with the exception of one item (see below).

We've stayed in Williamsburg before, and one thing that was surprising to me was the water out of the tap smelled heavily of chlorine. Maybe there was some drought or water issue going on, but I never had that issue with drinking water in Williamsburg before. The first night, I bought a Brita for drinking water, and that helped. But showers and baths didn't really wash away the chlorine smell from the water park and pool.

The only thing that was actually wrong with my unit was the master bedroom's bed. After the long driving trip, unpacking, eating dinner, and settling the kids down to bed, my husband and I just wanted to put our feet up and have a glass of wine. By the time we got to bed, it was close to midnight. As soon as we laid down on our bed, we both inadvertently rolled to the center of the bed. Upon closer inspection the mattress was in a very visible V formation, with each side a few inches off of the box spring! My husband has a sensitive back, and we could not sleep like that. And it being midnight with sleeping kids, we couldn't call maintenance to come help. So, we took it upon ourselves to disassemble the mattress, box spring, and frame. The bed frame was the issue, where the center bar was not attached properly. My handy hubby fixed it, and we slept great all week.

Recommendations:
* If you have specific bed needs (two twins versus queen), make sure you call the front desk to confirm your preference was communicated.
* Bring a water filter.

We exchanged our week in California to try the East Coast. What a great time we had. The staff were excellent to work with and the facility was one of the nicest we have been to. We took the whole family, 6 adults and 3 children. plenty to do on site with the kids. Mini golf, great pools, in and out. Close to everything, historical Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, Water Country USA and multiple golf courses. Played at Williamsburg National three times and my son-in-law played another round at Mill Creek. I would recommend this property the everyone. Nice accommodations and very clean. Will go back again.

Room Tip: They are all nice rooms.
