I visited Williamsburg recently. I stayed for a week in the Holiday Inn Express in North Williamsburg Va. I found the Inn, warm and welcoming. The staff was warm and friendly. Upon arrival we encountered a problem with the room door. When I reported it to the staff I was told the staff would get on it immediately, at that time the staff upgraded our room . Amenities were normal for this type of Inn, work out room and pool. The breakfast was very good and the sitting and outdoor smoking area were above average.

We had our annual Vietnam Vet reunion July 2014 in Williamsburg and we all stayed at this magnificent property. The recently renovated hotel was nothing short of spectacular, from the decor of the lobby and very tastefully decorated rooms to the friendly, helpful, courteous staff insured us for future trips to this area that this is the only place to stay when we return.

Great place to stay!! The staff were very friendly and professional. The entire place was CLEAN: the lobby, the room, the pool area (which was well stocked with towels), the dining area, and the exercise room were totally clean. My personal area of inspection at any hotel is the bathroom lol and it was very clean. While the rooms weren't large, they had everything that you needed and the beds/linens/pillows were great. Breakfast consisted of more than just the dry cereal and bagels that most places offer.

The only (very minor) problems I encountered: I had to call the 800 number to get the wifi to work and virtually no one wants to deliver food to this place (it is off the main drag, but that ensures peace and quiet at night). Felt completely safe in this hotel (was traveling with kids).

Not too far from Busch Gardens/Water Country. Will definitely make this my hotel of choice when I return. :)

Expedia completely botched the Independence Day reservations we had made at a bed and breakfast within walking distance of the Historic Area. It was only a day before our arrival that we discovered Expedia's error, otherwise we we might have never discovered this fine rural establishment.

Everything was tidy, the grounds were clean, the hallways and stairwells were well maintained too. Our room's door was really hard to open and close but otherwise everything was in order. The room was clean, there was no overpowering odor of cleaning solvents. I perform physical therapy stretching for my back upon the floor morning and night and found the carpet had no odor.

Towels were plentiful, the shower worked well and the bathtub drained excellently. The soap, conditioner and shampoo supplied were not objectionable. Water pressure was more than adequate.

All the electronic equipment in the room worked well. We didn't use the microwave. The air conditioner made no more noise than is usual for this type of unit.

We didn't take advantage of the free breakfast, so I cannot comment upon it.

Check in and check out was handled expertly and quickly.

Vasy was very helpful answering my wife's questions about our reservation.

If you have ever been to Williamsburg then you know there are an enormous number of hotels to choose from. Anything ranging from small roach motels to bigger, fancier places. I have been to Williamsburg a few times and this time decided to stay a bit further west of the city.

While this hotel is further away than the other hotels, don't think that you are too far away. Williamsburg is really not that big. Southeast of Williamsburg is Busch Gardens and Water Country USA. Northwest is most of the restaurants and shopping. One end to the other is only about 15 minutes driving so location of the hotel is not really important. Holiday Inn Express was at the extreme Northwest of the tourist area.

The check-in experience was a breeze. All the staff we met was very friendly and courteous.

Our room was clean which is one of the most important things. That and not in need of repair. Linens were fresh and crips. No mold or missing caulking from the shower/tub. And the room also had a fridge in it. Always a plus

Every morning they have an Express Start breakfast which was very good. Lots of food to choose from: eggs, sausage, oatmeal, cold cereal, toast, muffins, juice, coffee, etc. A good breakfast is always a bonus at a hotel...especially if your day is going to be going to theme parks where food can be pricey.

Hotel also had a decent pool area.

Overall this is great hotel to stay at for your Williamsburg visit.
