Owner description: The luxurious palace of the loyalist governor, complete with meticulously replicated late 18th century furnishings.

Governor's Palace was a beautiful place to visit. The tour guides are in character and tell a great story of long ago. Lots of breakables, not stroller or little kid friendly. Huge staircase. Great adult or school age child visit.

This is where the Royal Governor, who ran VA., which at the time extended to the Mississippi, lived with his family. A very impressive building and grounds. The tour guides are good. Each time we visit we learn more about it.

Our guide was well informed, amenable to questions and played his part explaining the roll of government and the people of that time. Recommend it highly

Didn't get to go inside but I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the area. They also had people dressed up outside each building which gave it a nice timely feel.

This was my third visit to the Palace, but the first I can recall without having to endure long lines. May week days must be the time to go!

The maze is a must-do. Really enjoyed seeing the food prepared for the governor as well.
