Owner description: The luxurious palace of the loyalist governor, complete with meticulously replicated late 18th century furnishings.

This is a faithful reproduction of the original palace filled with antiques of the period. It is a completely guided tour. The docents are very knowledgeable, as is everyone in Williamsburg!
If you can, attend one of the classical concerts by candlelight within the palace ballroom. It's a wonderful experience and the musicians are dressed in period costumes and are very talented.

It is amazing how the governor lived when most people had a one room home. It is part of any Colonial Williamsburg package and definately worth stopping in!

The tour was excellent, not only we got to see what it looked like in the colonial times, our tour guide (fully in character) was very knowlable and very open to questions.

We got to see the Palace while they were working on it getting it ready for the opening next week. The main man doing the restoration was very kind to take the time to explain the work going in progress on the second floor. Thank you so much. I was told the guns and swords in the main floor are reproductions but looked very authentic.

Great way to spend New Year's Eve. went to "dance lesson:" demonstration in Governor's Palace (and dinner in Shields Tavern with family. Dancers got everyone involved. Very worth buying tickets for special programs.
