Description: Le Yaca began in a tiny, country village(Courchevel)in the French Alps in 1964.Daniele Bourderau & Gerard decided that it would be fun to open a small restaurant. When friends learned of their plans they told the hopeful restaurateurs that they were crazy to think that people would drive 8 kilometers on a winding, icy road for dinner.Daniele and Gerard hesitated for 3 months and then decided: “yaca le faire,” a contraction of the French phrase “ il n’y a qu’a le faire” which basically means “let’s do it.” They called the restaurant Le Yaca as a gag. But the name caught on with customers, who were amused by the pun and contributed to the restaurant’s lore by inventing “yaca-isms ” of their own: yaca y aller (let’s go). Daniele came to the United States & opened Le Yaca in Williamsburg.Daniel Abid bought le Yaca in 2001. Daniel worked and trained in such prestigious places as “Le Pre Catelan” and “Lenotre” in Paris; “L’Amandier” and “Roger Verge" and to top it all off “Alain Ducasse.”

“A Magnificent Experience”
Reviewed November 1, 2013

Planned a visit for my wife's "Big One" and no I'm not telling which one! Do I look stupid!!
Hadn't been here in years as its a long way to go for dinner, 60+ miles but we remembered how great it was and this being really special we drove to Williamsburg. Had a big surprise planned which was coordinated with Joy. Didn't pan out but the staff, especially David our waiter, was as disappointed as we were. The service by David was excellent, took wonderful care of us without the hovering as some servers do. The meal was delicious, pureed onion soup, carved lamb and a cream brûlée. All off the three course fixed price offering. The birthday girl got a special desert and all was happiness! I'll be back for all special occasions even though they are moving a few miles further away soon as mention by another reviewer.
A big thumbs up, 5 Stars and on and on.
Bottom Line: Go there

“Le Yaca is Moving!”

This was a revisit. Same excellent service and cuisine. Do not pass on the baked oysters. They are taking the wonderful glass decorations. Looking forward to the new place.

“Nice anniversary experience”
Reviewed October 19, 2013

We visit Williamsburg once each year and found Le Yaca on line and decided to give them a visit. The staff was very nice and the meal was fantastic - worth the price. They are now on our favorite list of places to eat at when we visit the next time.

“A Little Bit of France in Williamsburg, VA”
Reviewed October 18, 2013

A party of four went to Le Yaca on a holiday weekend and was thrilled at the experience. The service was wonderful matched only by the superb cuisine. We each had something different off of the LeYaca menu. For $37.00 you get an appetizer, entree, and dessert. Not one of us was disappointed!!! The sauces on the entrees were exceptional, the soups delicious and the desserts divine. The presentation was lovely. It was a treat to find a bit of France in our own backyard. Can't wait to return!

“Fantastic!”
Reviewed October 14, 2013 via mobile

we had a phenomenal evening here.  The service was friendly, helpful, and upscale.  The menu had so many delicious offerings, we had a hard time deciding what to heat.  Everything we ordered was wonderful.  I would definitely go back...again and again.
