We stayed for a Sunday and Monday night in mid July and are VERY pleased! We would definitely stay here again, and wish we had known about the Woodlands for our last trip. For one adult and 2 teens, all girls, our standard room has 2 double beds and plenty of room to spread out. The shuttle made Busch Gardens, Water Country and Colonial Williamsburg a breeze. There's a foot path to the colonial side which makes for a great jog/walking path. The colonial town is 1 mile by 1/2 mile so you can make it as long/short as you like. Bike rentals are also available. We haven't gotten in the car since we checked in. The breakfast has a GREAT variety - scrambled eggs, ham, pancakes, sausage, cereal, fruits, yogurts, as well as muffins and breads. I was gun-shy after reading the reviews about crowded seating, but there was never a line, and seating was never a problem. There's plenty of tables and benches outside and all staff from check-in to check out were fabulous. The pool is immaculate. For teens, the Colonial side might hold their attention for a day - but the 2 BG parks can fill in a day or two. Dinner availability in the hotel/CW is limited and reservations are recommended, but the Woodlands offers LOTS of local delivery options, which is what we used. Hope your stay is as wonderful as ours was!

Room Tip: Standard room has 2 double beds and single sleeper chair that opens - room would be tight if that was opened, considering we had an adult and 2 teens. Might be different with young ones. Definiteely glad I paid the bit of extra money and stayed here.

One of the best Hotels I ever been to. Bucolic place with golf courses and a huge place for conventions. Reception perfect. Wonderful bar and restaurant. If you have the chance rent a bike ($5bucks) and go biking through the nature and golf courses (not inside of it).
Rooms with big bed and confortable pillows.

My family had a last minute weekend vacation up to Williamsburg, VA. We could not find a hotel two weeks before the trip, except at this hotel. We called to make the reservation, and the staff was very polite. Upon arriving the hotel was easy to locate and right next to the Colonial Williamsburg Visitor's Center. We were able to check-in early and asked for a quiet area of the hotel. We spent a day at Colonial Williamsburg and did not have to drive anywhere! We did have some difficulty finding the room. I would suggest following the signs carefully since the wings appear identical. The room was basic and very nice. We were not interrupted during the night by any noises. For breakfast we enjoyed the large breakfast area. The staff was very polite and helpful. This hotel was like staying at a resort, but it was around the same price as moderate to high-end hotel chains.

Room Tip: Be careful to follow signs to find your room. It can become easy to be lost in the halls.

I wrote a review last year on July 29, 2011 called “Fourth Time's a Charm”. I said I'd go back and I did. We stayed at the Woodlands for a second year in a row and it was just as accommodating as the first time. The staff wasn't quite as friendly as the first time, but that may have been because of the heatwave that went through Virginia during our visit. I heard that everyone had gotten used to the mild winter/spring/early summer and wasn't expecting temperatures as high as 108!

The rooms are relatively spacious and the amenities are great. They have free breakfast in the mornings which changes daily. Standard fare, but they cater to just about all tastes.

The Huzzah! BBQ Grille is located on site and a great place to stop by for inexpensive but tasty food. Here the staff is unfailingly polite and friendly. I liked that they extended their hours to 11pm.

Also close by is the visitor's center which closes at 9pm. It's great to have access to the walkway into Colonial Williamsburg and the free trolley near by as well.

Great hotel. If you're staying in Williamsburg I certainly recommend it!

We were there for 5 nights over the 4th of July for a family reunion. We chose the Woodlands over the other Colonial Williamsburg properties for cost and family friendlyness. We had a king suite on the 1st floor. If it were the wife & I we would likely stay at the Williamsburg Inn only because it is quieter and has a bar. We had over 30 people in our group and everyone liked the hotel and the amenities. Large pool with towels at poolside and for 1-1/2 hrs in the afternoon toys & games for the kids. There were also various other activities such as putt-putt that we didn't use. they have a large varied breakfast with something for everyone. The breakfast area does get crowded at times but you can eat outside or in the lobby. When it is really crowded you can go to the restaurant on site - 100 ft from the breakfast area - and eat. they serve the same items there ust in a little less variety & quantity. The staff was very friendly and helpful at any hour of the day. It's just a 2 min walk to the Williamsburg Visitors Center where you can catch the free shuttles to Colonial Williamsburg - or if you chose to walk it's about 8-10 min. You can buy discounted passes to Colonial Williamsburg as a hotel guest or if you are in a group like we were you can buy even further discounted pass good for your entire stay. Our passes were good for a week and were less the half the price of a single day adult pass. All in all it's a great place to stay and i would highly recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Get a king suite if you are going to be there for a few nights. The sofa is also a pull out bed.
