"What a way to spend a White Christmas in Colonial Williamsburg and at the Williamsburg Lodge." I have to disagree with the last posting. Our stay was wonderful!! Yes things were closed but who expected a major snow storm to hit Williamsburg, VA.? It's been over 30 years since any major storm of this size to hit the area. Most of the staff we spoke with stayed on for over 24 hours and never complained and always had a smile. I did notice many rude customers demanding this and that. Come on people, where was your holiday spirit? You were with your families and many employees were not. HATS OFF TO THE ENTIRE HOTEL STAFF at the Williamsburg Lodge for making this a memorable Christmas!!!

They canceled several events "due to the weather." They claimed their staff couldn't get in, even though several hundred guests managed the drive. The staff seemed uninformed about need for reservations and other goings on at the hotel. The restaurants, or, the ones that were open were fully booked, leaving us with no food options. Only assertiveness got us any supper. The gift card machine at one of the merchants was down; some of the guests could not use their gift cards. It just seemed like there was friction on every part of our stay. I would call this a theme park without any rides. You have better accommodations available at Williamsburg. Enjoy the history, but go stay somewhere else.

We stayed here to enjoy the holiday
Our room was located somewhere near Canada on the property. Dirty hallways elevators and little attention to customer satisfaction

This hotel is located at the heart of colonial Williamsburg.

My wife and I stayed there for the weekend of our anniversary. The hotel has free parking and is steps away from the main sightseeing attractions and restaurants. Once you park your car, you won't need it anymore.

We did not have any meals at the hotel restaurant, so I cannot give an opinion about their food. We used their bar though, and the service was good. The hotel lobby is nice and well maintained. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable. Bathroom was okay.

From my research and experience with this hotel, it seems it is one of the best options in Wiliamsburg.

We, a party of 14, booked our trip through AAA to avoid any unexpected problems. However, during check-in we had our first unpleasant experience. We were met with an additional $80.00 charge per room (3 rooms) that we did not expect. Even after we showed the staff all the paper work from AAA showing that everything was included and paid for, there was nothing they could or would do. The next surprise came when we picked up our Williamsburg/Busch Gardens passes and found they were also incorrect. Again we showed the staff our paper work from AAA to get this taken care of. Our next experience came during check-out time when we were charged for each breakfast, which was included as part of the package purchased. After talking to the staff once again and showing all our paper work from AAA, they did remove the charges. Our next experience came after we returned home. We discovered that the hotel had once again charged our credit card for the 3 rooms. Only after we called and talked once again to the staff did they agree to remove the charges. We contacted AAA about the first additonal charge for each room and found out that the hotel should not have added any additonal charges. AAA had emails and invoices showing the total which was due and paid by us to AAA with no balance due. The rooms showed their age, carpet worn, TV old, room not fresh smelling and paint peeling off the bath room ceiling. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
