We had a wonderful stay at the Williamsburg Lodge which is a short walking distance to Colonial Williamsburg. The staff - front desk, bellman, restaurant - were all helpful and friendly. They were even able to accommodate our request for a late check out. Our room - a standard - was larger than expected with plenty of room to spread out with children and was very clean. The pool which is across the way was very nice and allowed us a chance to cool off and relax after a busy day in walking around. The pool is clean and large - areas to spread out so you are crowded. I would recommend the Williamsburg Lodge to anyone looking for a family friendly place to stay or for a couples get-away.

Beautiful hotel, staff very friendly and knowledgeable. My family and I had a wonderful stay. As we stepped out of our car , entering the Lodge we were transported back in time, but with modern amenities. Lodge is within walking distance to Colonial Williamsburg. Definitely the place to stay if planning a trip to Colonial Williamsburg.

Have stayed at the Colonial Williamsburg Lodge many times and am never disappointed. Attentive and courteous staff, from bell captain to wait person, help make one's stay enjoyable. Location is great...easy to walk to historical attractions. Fantastic buffet breakfast in the Lodge dining room...wonderful made-to- order omelets. Looking forward to my next stay!

Room Tip: Prefer rooms in adjacent buildings...better ambiance.

I will mirror the previous review except for the fact that we stayed a bit longer. At first the Lodge appears more than other options but when you consider the included conveniences it is actually about the same and possibly cheaper. This is with the exception of the breakfast buffet. Which was a tad pricey, but excellent. The service was impeccable from the moment we pulled up. The entire atmosphere, from the doormen, the bar man, the front desk, to the servers in the breakfast room, everyone was extremely hospitable. Our room, I was concerned here because I made the res. through travelocity, was great. The room was large and had beautiful diagonal wood paneling. It was immaculately clean. I was even complemented on the room and the period furnishings. Plus, what more can be said when the next time you get in the car is when you check out. In addition, the parking is covered! I just wish the pool opened a tad earlier so I could have spent more time in it. Having said this I'm not sure you could ask for more. Our stay was wonderful and relaxing.

Room Tip: I liked the wood paneling.

This is the best location for seeing Williamsburg. It is centrally located and the shuttle stops right beside the lodge. The rooms are quiet and spotless. We purchased the "Triangle Package" and felt like it was worth the price. Breakfast was included and you could partake of the large buffet or order from the menu. We walked everywhere and used the shuttle a few times. We also took the ghost tour which was interesting. The lodge is so close that should you need a break from sightseeing you are only a few steps away from the room.

We just spent a night at the Williamsburg Lodge over the Labor Day Weekend. I Found it to be constructed within the time frame of the Colonial era, but clean and cozy offering modern amenities. It as well as the Williamsburg Inn are centrally located to Colonial Williamsburg. They offered free parking for guests and when you consider the fact that all you have to do is arrive and park once and can get to all of Colonial Williamsburg by walking, The tours, The Taverns, the eateries, the Art museum, William and Mary Campus and many stores and food places without the hassle of trying to find a parking space AND paying to park, this turns into a great deal. There is a spa on site, a pool which is located across from the rooms. It is almost set up like a miniature campus/resort with regards to the amenities. But this also affords rooms that can offer quiet and no little running of footsteps trying to get to and from such amenities. With that being said, we had originally thought about staying at the Holiday Inn Suites on Bypass Road. We are glad we did not because with the heat and the convenience of being within walking distance for bathrooms and relaxation, not to mention the fact that if we had to drive about 10-20 minutes each way, we may have been inclined not to do all the things we were able to do in such a short period of time. Note, there are hotels on Bypass Road that look ok, especially in comparison to same name hotels on other nearby streets that look run down. If you cannot stay at the Williamsburg Lodge or Inn, these would be my next preference, although I did not go inside. Kings Mill was even more of a distance and a trolley ride away from Busch Gardens (FYI).

Overall we had an enjoyable and enlightening trip as well as a journey into history to prepare us for the school year!

My favorite place to escape for a quick get-away is Colonial Williamsburg. Getting our of the car and stepping back in time is just the ticket, particularly since you can arrive in the historic district and not need your car until you depart. I had always noted the Williamsburg Lodge in my TA offerings, yet electing to stay in the other accomodations available on the property.

Seeking a more inexpensive alternative for a weekend trip I took a chance on the Lodge and have now become a new fan! The facilities, directly across the street from the Williamsburg Spa and the Golf Course include access to these same facilities available to all Williamsburg Inn guests. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. Most rooms include a balcony or small patio, which we enjoyed our rocking chairs while a soft rain ruined our plans to site see! Thankfully, we may hay of our circumstances at the Spa!

Breakfast was good, and inexpensive! The bar was cozy and jazz band music entertained us. Drinks were craftmade and deliscious! The real draw is the swimming pool at the Inn. The Quiet Pool is perfect for adults, and they have a full bar menu and drinks! The hotel rates for the Lodge are most reasonable for the area and worth the splurge!

Room Tip: Ask for a room along the periphery to avoid noises from the courtyards! Also, ask for help from the...
