This is the first time staying at the Williamsburg Lodge and I must say it is worth the little extra you pay for in a hotel.

The lodge was decorated beautifully with all colonial decor so it fits perfectly in the historic area. You are in walking distance of the historic area so it is located in a great place. It shares the pool with the Williamsburg Inn which is a small walk across the street. There is a "quiet" pool for adults and a larger pool for families with children. The pool is very large and has a very shallow portion for the little ones. My children loved to swim in it after a long day of traveling. It is open until 9:00 and it is very well-lit.

The grounds of the pool are located very close to their golf course which is beautifully landscaped. There are plenty of towels and lounge chairs available. There is a changing area pool side..oh and my kids loved the pool noodles and basketball game for the pool.

The rooms are large and very clean. The beds are higher than standard mattresses, so this may be a problem for people who cannot get up on a very high bed. The beds were very comfortable.

The dining room has menu or buffet breakfast and the staff is exceptional. The dinners were also very good and offered a kids menu.

I would recommend this Inn because after a long day of touring historic Williamsburg, its the best place to come back to!!

We stayed overnight in the Lodge and it was a delightful experience. Just the right touches of colonial decor in a fully updated hotel! The bed was comfortable and the room was plenty big. Taswell Hall was just the right distance to all the sights and experiences in colonial Williamsburg. The bathrooms do need a little updating, but that was a very small issue. The staff was responsive and our room service dinner and breakfast were amazing!! We will be back.

Have stayed at the Lodge several times and have never been disappointed. While more expensive than your chain hotels, you just can't beat the level of service, attention to detail and overall quality of the accomodations. Well worth it!!

The picture on line do not do this Lodge justice. The grounds are parklike and the atmosphere very serene. The service is top notch. The breakfast was very surprising . You had your choice of ordering off the menu or the buffet with made to order omelet. The rooms are beautifully decorated with folk art and lovely furniture. The reception area very spacious and the desk staff gracoius and helpful. Besides its location, mere steps from the historic area, there is a shuttle bus stop at the curb. In addition, a van is available to drop you off or pick you up for shopping or a tavern dinner. Our room was very quiet. I giv e the Lodge the highest recommendation.

Room Tip: Our room was in the Tyler wing and it was very convenient and quiet.

From the moment I stepped into the lobby I was glad we book our trip here. The staff is welcoming and warm. The location is wonderful. Just steps from the historic sites. The pool is lovely and the friday night seafood buffet is something you shouldnt miss!
