“A lovely place to stay”
Reviewed January 15, 2014

We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment here. It was a lovely place to stay. The 2nd bedroom was actually a smaller adjoining room with access to the hall which concerned us with younger children however we managed to secure it so we felt comfortable of their safety.
The apartment was modern and very comfortable. The staff were very friendly. They requested to meet us for what I assumed would be a timeshare presentation, but understood when we cancelled as we were overseas travelers and not interested. It is very conveniently located with only a short drive to local attractions and shopping.

Westgate Historic Williamsburg is about 1.5 miles from Colonial Williamsburg and even closer to the College of William and Mary. Judy, Jodie, Chey, Chris and Brenda were efficient and pleasant at the front desk for check-in and information about restaurants, etc. and could not have been nicer! Our one-bedroom timeshare apartment with fireplace in the living room was compact, but well appointed with a spacious bathroom. We stayed December 27, 2013 through January 3, 2014. We were pleasantly surprised to have an interpreter right in the lobby late one afternoon; he did a fine job portraying a Colonial Williamsburg tavern owner. We enjoyed our favorite restaurants, Sal's by Victor a block away and Maurizio's about 15-20 minutes away on McLaw's Circle toward Busch Gardens; both have scrumptious Veal Piccata. First Night 2013-14 in Williamsburg was lots of fun with many excellent presentations, all conveniently located on the William and Mary Campus or close by. We particularly enjoyed Celtica and Three Jolly Coachmen. Our previous visit to this resort was in 2010 and equally fine.

Room Tip: Ask for a room for a fireplace. We faced away from the street and it was very quiet; there was occas...

Jan 01, 2014 Stayed two nights on the third floor unattached building, 3rd floor. Vary quiet, no internet unless you pay for it. We stayed in a one bedroom with fireplace and spa tub. Rooms where clean, spa tub NOT! I requested no TIMESHARE pitch and they honored my request. Lots of room for $117.00 per night. Kitchen, with washer and dryer was great. I would recommend Westgate.

Thank you for your feedback on Westgate Historic Williamsburg. We certainly love hearing about your vacation experience. It’s true that our resort is a timeshare property and offers tours given to owners and guests to inform about upcoming updates and events at the resort. You’re certainly not obligated to attend unless you’re interested. I do apologize if there were any problems you may have encountered. We appreciate your recommendation of property and hope to see you soon!

This resort was a pleasant surprise from the time we arrived to the day we checked out.
The front desk gave us a great welcome. Smiling faces through the whole process of our check-in. Our information for our stay was in order and all they had to do was give us the keys.
The rooms are very nice and the beds was so SOFT feels like sleeping on a cloud. The staff each day had smiling faces and could help us with any information we needed. My mom loved the cookies and coffee they had waiting each day or our stay. We enjoy the stay at Westgate and the city of Williamsburg. If your looking for a place the relax Westgate Resort is the place to be.

I stayed @ the Westgate Historic Williamsburg resort the weekend after Thanksgiving. The representative @ the front desk, Brenda was very very pleasant. Gave me great information for events going on that weekend and much needed information for my stay and the amenities. I also had a great guest rep that took me to my room and made sure everything was in working order.

It was very quiet there and I absolutely loved the room. It was clean and had everything i needed and more.

I took a wonderful walk to Williams & Mary and to Merchant's Square the day before I left which was absolutely beautiful.

I would suggest this to anyone...had a nice quiet "JUST FOR ME" weekend.

Room Tip: the one bedroom was just what i needed and more.

I would have liked to rate the Westgate higher, but unfortunately, there were a few problems during our stay. First, I must say that the room we had a the Westgate was very nice--king bed, sofabed, fireplace, kitchen/dining area, a huge bathroom, and a washer/dryer. The staff members were all very nice and hotel was very clean. The location was a little over a mile from the historic area and not too far from the trolley stop if you want to avoid the hassle of finding parking. The downside is you will pay for internet--10$ a day, or 25$ for 3 days. This should be free, most hotels now offer this service to their guests. The walls were very thin, we heard people upstairs, in the hallway, and the worst was when the guests above us decided to use their jacuzzi tub at 2 am--woke us up out of a sound sleep! Oh and if you have ATT, don't plan to use the phone much at the Westgate or in many areas around Williamsburg. Most of the time my phone had no service. We were forced to keep turning the phones off to prevent the battery from being drained while searching for service. Like I said, the room, staff and hotel itself were fantastic--if it was not for the problems we encountered, I would have rated the Westgate much higher.

The place is very nice and the people that work there are really helpful and friendly...especially Tony at the front desk. He was so nice and helpful. Our room was clean and very nice. It was very convenient to have a washer and dryer. His Hotel was located perfectly between historic Jamestown and Yorktown. It was also minutes from historic Colonial Williamsburg and lots of restaurants.
