This resort is nowhere near as impressive as the first Westgate we stayed at in Kissimmee, Florida but then not many places would be, but it is nice enough with attention to detail and the colonial feeling. We were tickled pink to be put in the Patrick Henry suite and although it wasn't large it had more than enough space for two of us. A full kitchen, breakfast bar, washer and dryer, big bed with plenty of pillows but it was noisy. Not partying noisy but toilet flushes, windows opening, noisy refrigerator kind of noisy, tolerable but noisy. We were a little confused by the parking refurbishment but muddled through. It is close to pretty much everything and easy to find and it is quite nice. We bought the vacation after attending a time-share presentation in Florida and make no mistake, they can call it what they want but it's still a time-share; we booked this months ago and still received several calls from Westgate reminding us that we had to book our holiday which did nothing except send me into a panic as I thought that meant the booking had been mislaid! I should have known then that not everything would go according to plan. NOTE - when you buy the vacation rental package (which it turns out is not such a super deal price-wise), you are also agreeing to go to yet another time-share presentation!!! It's in the fine print apparently. We arrived on Friday September 28th and were looking forward to a week of stress-free vacation (already derailed in part by some car issues). We were away Sunday night and I do not tend to check my cell phone when I am away unless it is our daughters number that pops up, I more or less ignore calls. We're retired and have nothing and no-one else that can't wait. Monday evening we returned to our condo to see the message light flashing. The first message it said was from January 25th, 2011 and it was just silence - not kidding about the recorded date. The second message was from someone called Bob .... something or other, who was telling us we had an appointment Tuesday morning at 9:00am to go over the program with him and that he had left messages on my cell-phone. I immediately called the desk and advised them to advise him that we would not be available and had NO interest in another presentation for a time-share. Off to bed we went. The next morning I was awakened by someone knocking on the door - despite the DO NOT DISTURB sign. I waited and they knocked again. By the time they hammered away a third time, I flung the door open, in my nightie, hair all over and this man says "Mrs. Henry?" I said yes, he said he was Bob and we had an appointment. I replied that just because he had left messages he should not presume that we had an appointment and that he could bugger off. I shut the door, called the front desk and asked for Mike Wynn the general manager. He listened, apologized and said that although Bob didn't work for him, he would get the message to Bob's boss. 15 minutes later the suites phone rang and I handed it to my husband; Mike Wynn informed us that we HAD to attend ANOTHER presentation as part of our contract we had signed. My husband said in that case we would be leaving, which we did, three days early. We are now staying elsewhere at a much lower rate but in a lovely room with no hassles whatsoever. We will be contacting the upper management and directors, perhaps even the owner of Westagte Resorts as this seems to border on kidnapping when you are FORCED to attend a presentation. Everyone was very pleasant except Bob, but when we were asked if we were checking in when we were leaving and we replied no, we were leaving EARLY, there was no concern expressed whatsoever. My recommendation would be to run not walk, away from all Westgate Resort's unless you can withstand the high-pressure sales pitch from the salesman and the closer. Stick with Best Western, Holiday Inn or Marriott.

Room Tip: Stay elsewhere.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the “attention to detail and colonial feeling”, as well as the full kitchen, breakfast bar, washer & dryer and the big bed with plenty of pillows. You also mentioned you were “tickled” by your placement in the Patrick Henry Suite. The historic ambience of this resort and it’s walking distance proximity to Colonial Williamsburg makes this one of the most unique Resorts in the world. Some Westgate Resorts low price vacation packages have, as a condition of the package, an agreement that our guest attend a presentation or tour. We do apologize if any overly-enthusiastic salespeople made you feel uncomfortable-they are passionate about our resorts. We would gladly welcome you again to make yours an enjoyable stay.

Thank you again,
The Westgate Team

Our 3 night stay here was excellent. As it was only my Wife and I, we selected a one bedroom suite with one bed, and although the room was small, it was more than adequate for us. It is obvious that the owners have spent lots of time, money and effort into maintaining this place.
Fresh paint, tile bathrooms, and the room was immaculate. A great value for the money !!!
Would definitely stay there in the future.

Room Tip: We stayed in the main facility. There is another whole set of units to the right of the main facilit...

We stayed in a 2 bedroom 2 bath condo on the 3rd floor of the main building. Everything was beautifully appointed and extremely comfortable. A week here was too short. All members of the staff were extremely helpful and I would like to single out Katherine and Tony and thank them for all the help and helpful information. I made use of the fitness room and it was quite adequate. The resort is close to all of the many historic attractions of the area as well as to shopping, restaurants and grocery stores. Hate to leave but am only halfway through a 7000 mile road trip so it's on to D.C. tomorrow. Stay here and enjoy yourself.

Room Tip: Suite 301a/b was perfect for 2 to 4 people. They close the pool @ 11:00 so no noise after that.

We are happy to hear that you thought your 2 bedroom Condo was beautifully appointed and extremely comfortable. Tony and Kathryn are no doubt great employees. The fitness center is always a nice amenity to have while on vacation and our location is perfect being within walking distance of Colonial Williamsburg and The College of William & Mary.

Sincerely,

My husband and I vacationed with our three grandchildren. Altough the pool was the the most used facility, we all had a good time. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite that was excellent. Everything was clean and beautiful. I lovd the fact that the kids had their on bedroom separated by the living room from our bedroom. I enjoyed the fireplace. Overall, I was 100% satisfied and would stay there again. I would recommend this property to friends. We are Westgate owners and have had no problems with any of our Westgate properties visited in other cities.

Our experience at the Westgate was excellent ! The room was immaculate, the service was great, and the proximity to tourist interests was perfect!
The price was fair for the average family looking for a place to stay in Williamsburg. Our daughter especially loved the pool and we were able to swim after a full day of activities outside of the resort.
The staff were excellent and responded immediately and pleasantly to our requests and questions.
Top notch resort and we'll be back and will definitely look for Westgate locations when we travel next!

My family of four had planned a week long vacation and needed an affordable, yet nice place to spend just the first night. We decided to stay at the Wingate and were pleasantly surprised by how beautiful it was. The lobby was large and welcoming and the staff were very friendly. The room we stayed in had everything we could need and more. From a kitchenette, to a washer/dryer, and even a jacuzzi right in the bathroom! The kids loved it. Everything was clean and we had no problems. My one and only complaint was that their price to use the hotel wifi was $10 just for one night. Other than that, i would recommend this hotel to absolutely anyone.
