This is top notch. It is very close to Williamsburg - only 10 minutes walk. Clean, tidy and very efficient staff. Breakfast is good and very filling and if you need to print out documents, there is a Business Centre. I will return to Williamsburg and I will definitely return to the Governor's Inn. 5 stars from us!

This was the second year my school booked 13 rooms for our annual 8th grade three day trip to the Historic Triangle. Front desk was very helpful with every question and need we had. Location is within walking distance to Colonial Williamsburg and Merchant's Square. Continental breakfast and pool were appreciated. For the price this is a good value Motel.

Room Tip: choose 2nd floor

My wife and I stayed at the Governor's Inn for 3 nights as part of our historic Virginia vacation. We were very happy with our choice. The location was great as it was within walking distance to Colonial Williamsburg. The room was spotless. That is always our top priority. The service personnel were helpful and friendly. There is a good sized swimming pool that was very clean even though the furniture is getting old and worn. There was a nice continental breakfast, which had great coffee, that was included in the room price. We would absolutely stay here again. It was a pleasure.

From a British Tourist perspective, this place is similar to the I-Drive Orlando Hotels; in other words a Council Estate with a pool, but it is very good, and we really enjoyed the breakfast service; although that is a tad 'overmanned'. I counted 5 of them making a living out of half a dozen punters eating toast and bagels. The local bus company runs a free shuttle to Busch Gardens, that pulls into the Hotel Car Park 'on the hour'. The pub is a short walk down West Henry St. There is also an ATM on that street on the right.

Room Tip: One away from the main road.

Let's keep this in perspective: the room costs $65 per night. It is close to the historic district (walkable) and it is run by the foundation so that families can afford the trip. When you go in expecting a so-so room, you will be impressed. The walls were a bit thin, so you may need to turn on your TV or some music to fall asleep if the hotel is full. We only had to do this one night, as the other nights the hotel was nearly empty. It has a wonderful pool, and they offer a continental breakfast (cereal, instant oatmeal, waffles, danish, coffee, juice, etc). So you get a room for 4 people (albeit, small) and breakfast for $65. This will help offset your expensive meals in town to make the trip more affordable for working families.
