newly renonvated -- quiet but not easy access to off-property events -- no sidewalks -- very clean with a reasonably attentive staff -- probably a good place to "escape" given that it is tucked away -- for business, you likely will want to have access to a car

The hotel and staff could not have been more pleasant! Our stay was great. The breakfast buffet could have been hotter, but all in all it was a lovely get away! I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone coming to the Colonial Williamsburg area!

Stayed here one night before our condo was available. The room was unbelievably HUGE - twice the size of a standard hotel room! Nicely updated with comfortable bed, linens and new carpeting.

Our kids enjoyed the pool, but it was a little chilly for me. The indoor/ outdoor feature of the pool was interesting. It was so noisy though, we couldn't stay inside.

Location was very good - couldn't get any closer to Busch Gardens! Not too far from CW, groceries, gas, etc. and we liked that the site was fairly wooded.

Can't comment on the bar or dining, but overall would recommend!

A spacious hotel with a good bedroom. The food was good but expensive for what it was. Unfortunately the dining experience in the evening in the dining room was ruined by several televisions playing extremely loudly.

Thank you for your favorable review. I am sorry that the TV volume disrupted an otherwise enjoyable evening. Please do not hesitate in the future to ask the servers to turn the volume down for you or at least seat you in a quieter section of the dining room. I am certain they will accommodate your wishes. We look forward to your return.

First of all, this will be my third review of this property after several stays with them in the past. The Double Tree has the best location in town for Busch Gardens travelers. The hotel has recently been renovated, or has it? The rooms have been nicely renovated. Unfortunately the bathrooms were not, which is not a big problem given most were in decent shape to start with. We had two rooms on the sixth floor and one room was a regular room while the other was a handicapped room although we didn't book a handicap room. The handicap room (#604) had some mold issues in the bathroom but the regular room (#618) had a great and very clean bathroom. The lobby looks as though it is still under renovation. I'm not sure whether it is or not, but one can only hope considering the fact that the chandeliers were down but still had wires hanging out of the ceiling. There were some new pieces of new modern furniture and old pieces as well along with a worn down/broken up tile floor and dinged up woodwork. The ceiling in the seating area had leak/mold markings, the curtains were down but old rusted rods were up. So, I'm not sure what the deal is there. The restaurants provided great food with great service as well. The indoor pool area had been renovated but there was only one small light to illuminate the area at night. The public restroom in the lobby had the worlds sloppiest floor tile job where the workers were apparently too lazy to cut pieces of tile and just filled those areas with extra grout. The bathroom also boasted pink paint on the trim and stall doors. They made some upgrades to the outside of the hotel, but something needs to be done to the parking lot where the pavement has crumbled almost into gravel and there are no painted lines for parking spaces. The staff was friendly as always, especially the bellman who has been there every time we've stayed at the hotel in the past. Unfortunately I think that the hotel has made a very poor attempt at renovating and the end result is not very pleasing. Sad to say, but this hotel has definitely seen better days.

We appreciate your loyalty and your observations. As with many renovations, some of the detailed projects fall behind due to back order items, weather delays and contractor availability. We are still waiting for delivery of furniture for our lobby and public areas and installation of artwork and trim details. We expect tis to be complete within the next couple of weeks. We have a project supervisor staying at the hotel until all details of the renovation are complete. Thank you for taking the time to give us your constructive comments.

My family and I went to Bush Gardens and stayed here...it is very close to the park and we had a great stay...clean, affordable..safe. The ladies who worked the desk were extremely nice and helpful. I highly recommend staying here.

The rooms are spacious and clean and the cookies are delicious. Remind the staff about the cookie, they are kept in a warmer at the front desk. The grounds were neat and the staff was pleasant and geeted you upon arrival. I enjoyed my stay
