Let me say the good things first.
1) They had a breakfast with Santa and that was great.

Staff was very friendly and tried to go over and above. Hotel has a lot of amenities including large outdoor gas grills, indoor and outdoor pool/jacuzzi, sauna, store with everything from milk to candy, pizza, even a whole turkey (for thanksgiving). Short drive to Colonial Williamsburg which is very nice.

Make sure you get directions from the hotel as a GPS will send you to the wrong entrance.

Stayed in a 2 bedroom villa (#1814) for 5 nights. The villa itself was large (1300 sq. ft.), and the kitchen had all the items/ utensils necessary to make our stay comfortable. The rooms were furnished adequately (and tastefully) with furnature in good condition. The beds were "comfy". The night after our arrival we shopped for groceries at a near by Trader Joe's. (The market on site is very costly, as you might expect). The jacuzzi had 2 jets that didn't work, but other that that everything was in working order. One small setback. The maid neglected to clean our room the day before we were to depart. (a late night housekeeper provided us with fresh towels). We were accommodated, however with an hour later departure time of 11 am. (normal departure time is 10 am, rather early) The surrounding area is beautiful, lovely grounds, lovely homes......Fords Colony is certainly in a great setting!!!

We stayed here the week of Oct. 24th - Oct 31st in a 2 bd. villa. Room 1116. We stayed in the Berkley Manor Building. The room was beautiful, although had a somewhat musty smell to it. Maybe if the curtains and carpets were steamed cleaned this might help. We kept our patio doors open when we were in the room for fresh air. We later found out that this is the oldest building at the property.
The villa itself was very nice, kitchen was large, bedrooms good size, screened in patio was very nice, we had coffee here in the mornings.
Grounds were lovely! Walked the grounds early in the am. We used the indoor jacuzzi and pool one night. Concierge was a wealth on information. Booked our Washington DC tour and dinner reservations for us.
Many resort activities through out the week. Unfortuately we were too busy seeing the sites that we were unable to participate in many of these. We did attend the Mon. morrning orientation.
Fri. we did the Bike ride that was being offered. Parker "our guide" was wonderful! What was supposed to be a 1/2 bike ride turned out to be a 1 1/2 hr tour. My hubby and I were the only couple that joined in on this. We toured the beautiful grounds and neighborhood surrounding the resort. I loved the homes and Parker was patient enough to give me all the time I needed to take pictures of the homes.
Check in and Check out were painless.
Great resort with friendly employees.

We stayed one week in a one-bedroom villa while sightseeing and had an extremely comfortable stay. The villa was spotlessly clean, completely equipped kitchen, comfortable living room with gas fireplace that we used b/c the weather was extremely cold and wet. There was also a nice patio/terrrace that we didn't use at all due to poor weather. King bed was very comfortable; bathroom shower had plenty of hot water. We enjoyed having breakfast there (coffee maker, toaster, microwave) and the occasional dinner with meals we got at nearby Trader Joes. Towels/toiletries were refreshed every day, something I wasn't expecting. We'd go back in a heartbeat, especially given reasonable rates. It was about 20 minutes drive to Merchants Square. We didn't use our double jacuzzi, or play golf or use other facilities (spa, exercise room, pool). If you're looking for a hotel experience with room service this place is not for you. If you want a spacious, clean location where you can spread out and have a home away from home, Manor Club is a winner. Free wireless internet too! My only suggestion is to relocate the l/r TVs since they are currently above the fireplace and are somewhat uncomfortable viewing angle.
