We stayed here on our recent trip from 8/30-9/6 and liked it very much. I have to say we weren't the hotel all that much and didn't have a chance to partake in any of the planned activities. There is just so much to do in Williamsburg that our hotel was more of just a home base for us. We did get to use the pool on our last day. Everyone we encountered at the resort was very nice. Our rooms were great. We had traded our time share for a 2 bedroom villa. It was big, had everything we needed and was clean. If you're a golfer, and you own with the Marriott time share properties,6 rounds of golf come free with your stay. The hotel is situated in a residential community with a country club. On property there are 2 outdoor pools and one indoor. There are also tennis courts, basketball courts, barbeques. It was very quiet at our resort, but most people seemed to be out and about most of the time. It doesn't have as many children activities as the old Marriott Horizon lines did, but they did have some planned.

Over all we felt it was a great choice for us.

The room was excellent. We had the 2 bedroom with full kitchen. Room was in fine shape. Outdoor Pool is adequate. A bit hard to find hotel with GPS as you drive in as many of the entrances are for full time residents and not the timeshare unit we were in. I don't golf but they do have a full course there to use. TV was fair, sets could have been much better. The facility is nice although the surrounding area is rater depressed. We did the Williamsburg deal for most of the week we were there. It is OK. Kind of a once and done vacation spot in my opinion. I'll say it looked a lot better than some of the other heotels in the area.

My husband, children (13 & 10 yrs.) and I stayed at the Marriott’s Manor Club at Ford’s Colony for 7 nights in a 2-bedroom Villa in July 09. The location was convenient to all of the Williamsburg attractions to include: Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, Yorktown, and Busch Gardens.
The Villa was very spacious, clean, and comfortable, though, I thought the bed pillows were a little overstuffed, which made my neck stiff every morning. There were also a few maintenance issues; specifically, the kitchen sink leaked, the closet door knob in one of the bedrooms was broken, and a tile by the shower door came completely off. We reported it and the maintenance guy fixed the pipe and the door knob by the next day. The tile didn’t fall off until near the end of our stay, so we didn’t see that repaired.
The maid service was O.K., but could have been better. For example, one of my children slept on the pull-out couch in the living room. The first day, the house cleaning didn’t really make it up, the sheets were merely pulled up. The second day, the entire bed was put away forcing us to pull-it out and re-make it after a long day and evening at Colonial Williamsburg. That night, I called and asked the front desk to tell house cleaning to please leave the pull-out couch out and made. I didn’t have to do that at any other place we stayed at. Additionally, the house cleaning personnel didn’t always leave us a packet of regular coffee. The first two days we got coffee. The next two days, we didn’t; and the last two days, we did.
The kitchen was very nice with marble counter tops and a flat top stove. There were ample accessories to make and serve a meal. We bought food at a nearby supermarket and enjoyed a nice breakfast in our Villa every morning. We even made dinner there the first night we arrived.
The “Manor” had 3 pools and an arcade room. We didn’t have time to enjoy the arcade, but we swam in 2 of the 3 pools. The pools were heated, open until 10 PM, and very nice.
They also offered complimentary evening events, but, again, we didn’t have the time to partake in them. We were usually enjoying an evening event in Colonial Williamsburg or at Busch Gardens.
Overall, Marriott’s Manor Club at Ford’s Colony is a lovely place with nice Villas. For the level of accommodations, I give it a 4.5/5.0. If not for the few things mentioned above, I would have given it a 5.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom 2 bath villa for a one week stay for a second year in row. This year we were with 4 small children. Had a great time visiting Busch Gardens and Water Country USA but also enjoyed the two outdoor pools and sport court area at the Marriott.

The 2BD/2BA rooms are very spacious with full kitchen, dining area and living room as well as outdoor patio area. The 2 bedrooms are on each side of the living room area - one with large jacuzzi tub and separate shower and the other with a standard bathtub/shower. The kitchen had very nice cherry cabinets with granite counters, a full size dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave and range.

All of the 2BD units have a king size bed in each bedroom and a pull out sofabed in the living room area. The dining area has a table with 6 chairs and 2 barstools that look into the kitchen area. There is a gas fireplace in the living room. The bedrooms and living room each have their own TV with full selection of cable channels. The living room also has DVD player. Movies can be rented for a fee from game room.

The grounds at the property are very nice with single family homes and a golf course located on the drive in from the entrance to Ford's Colony. There are plenty of activities for kids and adults scheduled each day. There are two outdoor and one indoor pool, sport court (tennis, basketball, shuffleboard, etc.), playground area, gas grills, a game room, movie screening room and marketplace store. I'm sure there is more but this is what I witnessed/used while staying at the property.

Busch Gardens and Colonial WIlliamsburg is about a 15 minute drive. There are two grocery stores (Food Lion and Ukrops) within a 5-10 minute drive. The outlet stores are about 5 minutes away.

One thing to note, If you are looking for a full service hotel experience (i.e., room service, restaurants, bar, etc.) then this is not the property for you. However, if you are looking for spacious, clean and comfortable accomodations (in the 2BD) then this is a great place to stay. Though it is a Marriott, it is more of a timeshare property then it is a hotel. There are Marriott hotel properties in Williamsburg which I suspect would offer more of the hotel experience if that is what one is looking for.

Our family of four (with 2 young children) stayed at the Marriott Manor Club from Aug. 12-16, 2009 and we loved it! We stayed in a one-bedroom villa which was spacious, beautifully-decorated and clean. The bedroom had a king-sized bed that was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in! (Kids slept on a pull-out couch in the living room). The bathroom was spacious (one sink inside and one outside) and there was a 2-person jacuzzi which we enjoyed. The villa also included a full kitchen, dining area, screened-in porch, washer and dryer, and 2 televisions. It felt like a home away from home and we loved it. Right next door to our building was one of the outdoor pools as well as four tennis courts. The Marriott Manor Club is a mile or 2 away from the commercial area of Richmond Road, and we really appreciated coming back to the peace and quiet of the Marriott after spending a busy day at Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens and Water Country USA. We did not get to try the golf course but it looked beautiful. We expected to be given a sales pitch for a time share, but no one bothered us. In short, we loved our stay at the Marriott Manor Club and we wished we had more time to spend there enjoying all of the resort's amenities and activities. We would go back in a heartbeat. I highly recommend this resort to anyone visiting Williamsburg.

We selected the hotel because of the "resort" amenities and great reviews - were we ever disappointed. First, if you are a platinum member, take your membership and through it out the window because as a time-share property, you get nothing - no upgrade, no welcome gift, no club level - nothing. The room we had had an out-dated TV which had to be replaced because it did not get several channels, and did not have even an alarm clock. When we called asking about the clock they said it was in the suite portion of the connecting room. For 169. ++ a night, I expect an alarm clock. There is no real restaurant - more like a "snack room." The spa closes at 5pm and the pool is not a resort pool - just your standard boring pool. The bathroom is very outdated - if you like 1 sink and a flourscent light - you will like it. It is in a quiet area and I suppose those who get the Villa Suites are doing just fine - but you are pretty much 2nd class citizens if you don't get one. All in all - I would have gotten a larger and more modern room with breakfast if I had stayed at another Marriott property closer to Richmond Road.

We stayed here for my sister's wedding at the adjacent country club. Our room was one of the one-bedroom "villas" (not really a villa, as rooms were located in a series of 2 or 3 story buildings). There was a ton of space for us, a jacuzzi tub, walk-in shower, full kitchen and screened in balcony. At first glance, everything is elegant and beautiful, but, closer inspection reveals the wear-and-tear that comes with the resort's primary role as a family and golf oriented time-share resort. There were scratchs, scuffs and smudges in the elevator, hallways, and in-room doors, frames, walls, trim and furniture. We only had time to use one of the 3 pools, which was large enough not to be crowded, warm, and relatively clean, though there was visible sediment in the large whirlpool next to it. We didn't try the room service, gym or spa. The marketplace was very convenient and not too outrageously priced, though there also several convenience stores and a supermarket within a few minutes drive. On the whole, with a descent rate, it would serve as a great base for a week exploring the historical sites and theme parks in the area.
