“second time staying here and just love it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2014

The suites are beautifully appointed and very comfortable beds. Lots of space for a family. We were there with four adults and 2 young children and had a lovely time. Lots to do for the kids and we also enjoyed the wine and cheese gathering for the adults. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Also lovely grounds, with a golf course, bike rental etc. Too bad the weather was not good at the time but it was an exceptionally cold winter. We were there in late February and early March but even with snow on the ground the Marriott at Ford's Colony was a great place to stay. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: We had the full suite which included the lock-out section. Two full bathrooms. All the rooms se...

We are MVC owners at Grande Vista and just recently bought a two bedroom lockout here at the Manor Club. We usually split and trade the Orlando property to stay here once per year or buy a week from Interval. This yea,r we bought a 2 bedroom week from II. I expected to stay at the Sequel section which is fine with us. However, when I requested a top floor with golf view, the desk gave us a top floor 3 bedroom with loft in the Berkeley building. WOW! These units have separate living and dining rooms with a very roomy master bedroom that includes a walk in closet. The loft area includes a very nice third bedroom and full bath. Be advised that this is a time share and not a hotel. There is also not much here for kids on site although there is a lot for them in the Williamsburg area. This resort is about golf with 3 18 hole courses on site and a great location for walking or running in the 3000 acre Ford Colony community. Hit the Food Lion on the way in and you will be all set for meals all week. Plenty of gas grills on site to cook out if desired. The Food Lion is in a plaza that also has many factory outlet stores and a couple of great restaurants/pubs such as Oceans and Ale. Finally, the people and staff are great here!

Room Tip: The newer Sequel section has its own pool and near the tennis courts. These have the smaller lock o...

My husband booked this for our Spring Break get away and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by how beautiful this resort is. The drive in thru the neighborhood with the inviting golf course, makes you want to be a homeowner in this lovely area. Our 2 bedroom was nice and reasonably priced $230 the Saturday before Easter and $194/night for Sunday-Thursday. We were in the Jefferson manor, 3rd floor. It was super quite and really we maybe saw 2 families in our building during our entire stay. Pool areas are great-we started off by the check in and then were told there was a much larger pool across the street. This pool was way better. There is a ton to do on property and the amenities are nice. I did not score this 5 stars because I felt our villa was a tad out of date, the marketplace was just so so, and the drive into Williamsburg-although pretty is a tad far-20-25 minutes, 30
to Busch gardens. I would definitely stay here again and definitely would recommend it to friends and family. Super clean and housekeeping does a great job keeping things stocked and tidy while you are there.

Our family of 5 ( including 16, 14 and 11 year olds) stayed here for 3 nights in a 2-bedroom villa in the Jefferson Manor. It was beautiful. Held our family perfectly. Several things to do a resort. We utilized indoor pool, game room, basketball court, oversized/outdoor checker board, driving range. Marketplace on site enabled us to purchase food if needed. Had a nice dinner out one night at the golf club...we walked to it. Not a far drive from Historic Williamsburg. 3 of us went to Freedom Park and did the GO APE obstacle course/ziplinging. Great time. Would totally recommend it!!

Room Tip: Our 2 bedroom villa was on the first floor in the Jefferson Manor. Just a couple buildings away fro...

Let me start off by saying that my wife and I have owned with Marriott since 94 and who we travel, we do our best to exclusively stay at Marriott resorts. The Manor Club at Ford's Colony is a beautiful resort, great property with a very friendly, and helpful staff and plenty of amenities. The only reason that I would not give it 5 stars is the Marketplace store is very weak in standard to what we are accustomed to with other Marriott resorts, and the kitchen in the two bedroom is small, really small. I know I'm nit-picking, and I apologize, but when you are used to a standard, and you don't receive it, you need to say something. We did have a couple of minor issues with our villa that the maintenance team handled immediately. The property itself is very close to all the attractions and only about an hour from Norfolk. Would we stay there again, of course, as it's not too bad a drive from Jersey, and the kids had a great time.

We just returned from a four night stay at the Manor Club. We are MVC owners and this is our first time visiting this location. We stayed in a two bedroom villa in the Jamestown Building. This is located in the sequel part of the resort. For those not familiar there are two sections. The Sequel is the newer section across the road from the main building. At first I thought this was going to be a problem but it turned out in my opinion to be better. It is still very close, short walk to the main building. The building that we stayed in was close to the pool and childrens splash area. Also there is a nice playground. If your traveling with small children this in my opinion is an ideal location. The villas were very nice. Well maintained, comfortable beds. The second bedroom has a king size bed and a full size pull out sofa. The sofa bed looked new, possibly newer used. It seemed very comfortable. No complaints from the kids. The tub in the master bedroom had jets. This was something I haven't seen at the Mvc resorts that I've stayed at. The kitchen area is somewhat small compared to other locations but this really wasn't a problem for us. It was well equipped is you wanted to make a full meal. They also provide you with coffee, filters, salt & pepper, dishwasher powder, dish soap, sponges, trash bags, Tide and some bathroom items (shampoo, conditioner, lotion and soap). One thing that I would love for MVC to provide is an all purpose cleaner to wipe down the Counters. They provide a carpets sweeper and broom, why not something to wipe down surfaces? There's also a nice electric fireplace that's also a heater. The porch is screened in. The villa compared to other Mvc locations was about in the middle as far as size. Not the largest one we've stayed in (that would be Myrtle Beach) and not the smallest unit (that would be Aruba). The amenities here we really didn't use. It looked like that had some nice offerings. Not as much as some of the other locations. The staff all seemed very nice and helpful. My family really enjoyed this location and are looking forward to returning again. The area is very nice. Lots of stores ans restaurant options. Busch Gardens is about 20 minutes away and the other tourist attractions are about the same give or take.

I read some of the other reviews and found that a few people complained about the children. These resorts really are geared toward families. The only location that I've been to that I can say it was mainly adults was in Vegas. I also found at the Ocean Club in Aruba was more for adults (the Surf Club next door was for families). Other than that the majority of the people are families. If you don't like kids or you want a vacation without kids avoid these resorts. Go to an adult only resort.

Room Tip: If you want to be near the main pool and playground request to stay in the Sequal section.
