Visiting Williamsburg VA. in January may not be the optimal time of the year for most people, but that is when we decided to make the trip. The Marriott Manor Club at Ford Colony is a great place to lay you head after a busy day re-learning the history of our Country where it all happened first. This Resort is not only beautiful from an outside architecture standpoint, but it also has gorgeous Villas. All the great Marriott Customer Service is available at this Resort. Clearly those that enjoy a round of golf won't be disappointed with the on-lcation Country Club. There are "Activities" available each day, some of which include a overall orientation to your Colonial Williamsburg visit. The Villas are spacious and the Beds are so very comfortable (how does Marriott do that?). The most visited historic sites are between 5 and 10 miles from this location (an easy drive).

Room Tip: Your GPS may take you to the Ford Colony gated entrance which you cannot enter. Just keep driving a...

Relaxing resort. Just far enough away from the attractions so that you can enjoy the attractions and some downtime as well. We used the resorts facilities for fun times and also went offsite for fun and food. Nearby Colonial Williamsburg is fun for all ages. Plus so much more to do in the area.

Room Tip: If being close to the community rooms or pool is important to you, then ask for a room near there.

As Marriott time share owners, we were very disappointed in the living room and dining room furniture in our two bedroom villa. The couch and the chairs in the living room were painful to use. The dining room chairs were very heavy to move and we had to use pillows on the seat and back.
We made good use out of the abundant bed pillows.
The staff was very nice, and our unit was otherwise satisfactory.

Wow. This is a gem in Ford's Colony. Even though the timeshare events are available, they are in no way pushed on the guests.
I am staying in a one-bedroom: that includes a separate bedroom, jacuzzi tub, shower, state of the art kitchen, deck, dining area, washer/dryer and a lovely gas fireplace is cozy when watching one of two large HD televisions. Free wi-Fi is a superior change from the alleged competitor Powhatan plantation charging 6.95 per device daily.
The management and staff is delightful and attentive. They have gone out their way to accomadate me. The game room and cozy movie theater is a blast. Don't forget the amenities ...golf discounts, bike rentals, family activities. The entire resort is full nightly - full of life! Don't forget the marketplace with craft beers and made to order munchies. I am a silver elite member of Marriot and have been treated like the top tier. The prices are so reasonable (one bedroom at 78 approximately during weekdays. The studios are upscale hotel rooms at even less.) one of my favorites as far as bang for the buck and personalized treatment.

Stayed here twice in 2013. First time was August and we stayed in a one bedroom villa. Spacious and clean although we found the room to be a bit dark even with the lights turned on. We enjoyed the outdoor pool and hot tub and, on occasion, would order drinks or food from the poolside bar and grill. No restaurant onsite, although everything is a short drive away. The only minor issue we had is trying to find a parking spot by our villa, especially if we were returning in the evening. Although our parking pass had a code, this is not a gated property. Other Marriott Vacation Clubs we have stayed at all had a gated entryway. Our second stay was at New Years in a two bedroom villa. Very spacious, each room had a king sized bed and plenty of room to move around in. My son loved swimming in the heated outdoor pool and also the outdoor hot tub! With each stay we enjoyed walking around the grounds which are well maintained. Staff are helpful and always friendly.

We stayed at Marriott's Manor for a week Jan 4th-11th 2014. We exchanged into a 2 bedroom lockoff through our timeshare and it was really great. We have 3 kids (6m, nearly 2, & newly 4) and they all slept in the lock-off room and we slept in the master (both rooms are set up as masters though) with the Jacuzzi tub.

We had exactly the vacation we wanted. There were several days we didn't leave the resort but just went swimming and played in our rooms. The kids loved the jacuzzi tub as did we. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and utensils. The whole place was really clean and sound proofed well. If you were in the halls you could hear people in rooms but within our suite you didn't hear the hall. I did use a sound machine for the baby as I put his pack-n-play right by the hall door in the kids room. We didn't need to use them but we did have both couches pulled out into beds at different times for the kids to play on and they were the very best pull out beds I have ever seen. Nice thick, firm foam mattresses instead of thin folded up mattresses.

Overall, fantastic trade for us and we very much enjoyed our week.

There are very many great things about this hotel/time share. This is one of the nicest and most well appointed time shares you could hope to find in the United States. It is clean and modern and spacious. The large and bright units are amazing, with their own balconies and fireplaces, well appointed kitchens and huge beautiful bathrooms. The grounds are well kept and spacious. And you are right near Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, Yorktown and all the other attractions in the area. The staff, particularly the concierge, is exceptionally helpful and friendly. The bedding and all the other appointments to the unit and the kitchen are of the best quality.

There is also a great deal of privacy. Plus, this place is a great value. The prices are very reasonably for all that you get.

There are only a very few things that are not quite up the the high standard that is set by the rest of the facility. The drawer and closet space in the room was serviceable but a little bit small. The fitness room, spa and pool are nice but those facilities are at a location that is quite far separated from the main residence buildings. The water is loaded with what appears to be chlorine, which is fine for washing but not so much for drinking.

Other than those few things, this place is at the top of the class.
