“Not so Good”
Reviewed July 26, 2009

We stayed in Room 112, The toilet did not work properly - three flushes. We complained to the hotel staff two days in a row, on the third day the maintenance man did attempt to fix it but it still took two flushes. The indoor pool is not attractive but was clean and a nice temperature; and the breakfast was okay. They did have a waffle skillet but items like yogurt, they did not have. The linen was clean. the plus was I never felt an urge to scratch like you can in some hotels, Bed was very clean,. We paid $62 - don't pay more, try to pay less. Hotel staff was very nice. There are a lot of hotels on this road. I would have rated them at least a 3; but the toilet issue left me a little sour.

Clean room, very inexpensive price... $50/night, fitness center, large heated indoor pool, great complimentary deluxe breakfast w/ hot waffles and a staff that was friendly and helpful....thank you Eleanor, Catina (& others). Yes, this hotel is showing some age, but, is kept very clean. It sits off the road so, it's quiet for the light sleeper. Another perk, Golden Corral sits in front of it and Cracker Barrel sits diagonal. It's a great place for families!

We were looking for a place to stay over the New yrs that accepted a min of 18yr old for check in.. we only found a few whose ratings were minus five stars. finally we found the sleep inn off the bypass for $44 a night .. lucky us. upon arrival check in was pretty much a breeze besides the check inn lady talking to her mom on the phone. we checked out the room when we got in and every thing looked exceptionaly nice.. even though they put us in a handicapped room :-/ .. it had a kinda funny smell but most hotels do.. the bed was clean and pretty comfy. floors were decent.. everything was all good UNTIL we got to the bath room.. it was handicapped so the shower was without a tub just bare floor... there was a dirty footprint on the shower wall pretty high up. the white towels were pretty dingy.. and the removable shower head was gross.. brown flakes were coming off of it when u turned it on.. ANYWAY. the continental breakfast was good.. they had waffle makers, cereal, all these danishes, fruit, and juices. the exercise room had two pieces of equipment. and the pool was heated. The hotel is very close to colonial williamsburg and bush garden and a few of the other historical sites.. lots of restaurants and stores around, the outlet mall is less than 10 mi. overall our stay was pretty nice

My wife and I stayed here for two days over Halloween. We used a walk-in coupon from the coupon book widely available at rest stops. We received a deep discount with the coupon and were treated just as courteously as if we had paid full price. The room was clean and quiet. It appeared to have been recently upgraded. The free continental breakfast will not win any culinary awards but it is more than adequate (waffles, muffins, cereal, Danish, etc.) We have stayed here before and will probably stay here again. All in all, a great value for the buck.

There is a great little Italian restaurant named "Sal's by Victor" in a strip mall not far from the hotel. The food is outstanding and the prices are incredibly reasonable. Try the veal!

  • Liked — Great value for money spent.
  • Disliked — No negatives.

Our ground floor room was so humid and damp, even with AC on. Swim suits hung on hangers to dry were still soaking wet next morning. Carpet felt damp on our feet. My allergies really flared up--sign of mold and mildew. There were debris and things floating on bottom of pool---we didn't see how water was being filtered to be cleaned. Our children said that the water was salty when they accidentally got some in their mouths, as will happen when children swim. They got out and would not go in again. Pool is big part of our hotel stays. Excercise room--ceiling tile stains all over ceiling from leaks in roof: more mold and mildew. We shortened our stay to 1 night and went elsewhere. What we did like: there are 2 waffle irons, juice and coffee machines, cereal, bagels, fruit, danishes for brfast; staff was friendly and helpful.

  • Liked — breakfast
  • Disliked — damp, moldy room and fitness room; disgusting pool
