“LOVE this place”

One of the best places I have ever been too. It is charming and cozy and educational. You step back in time. I went in December and in April. April was a little too crowded. December the air was crisp and the smells in the air were magnificent. Everything was decorated. They sold gingerbread cakes and hot cider in outside stalls. We ate at Shield's Tavern which was an amazing experience. I went in December 2004, but tripadvisor didn't have that as a choice.

“Too high priced for the average visitor”

Unless you have a Patriot's Pass, etc., everything is individually & ridiculously priced. Definitely not family friendly!!.

“Great”

Learn in a living history museum. What is more interesting than our own American history....brought to life by working historians impassioned about this incredible period of time.

“Fantastic day”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 24, 2012

We only had one day to visit W'burg but we managed to walk quite a few of the 173 acres (it seemed). Magnificently maintained and the costumed guides and demonstrators were knowledgeable, helpful and made the experience very special.

“Christiana Campbells”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 24, 2012

The best sweet potato muffins in Williamsburg. I ordered fried chicken, Sherry was our waitress and she was wonderful. Very informative and accommodating. Sherry recommended the seafood fricassee to my husband and he wasn't disappointed. He loved it. My daugher had steak and said it was perfect. The apple cider was very refreshing and my daugher now wants us to find where they sell it because it was so good.
We didn't wait at all. as soon as we walked up we were seated.
