“Romantic getaway for serious foodies”
Reviewed July 1, 2014

The restaurant at L'Auberge Provencale is not cheap, but it is worth every penny. From the moment you walk in until the last plate is cleared, you are in for a first class dining experience. Everything - from the food to the service to the atmosphere - is exquisite and everyone in the place is working to ensure that every aspect of your dining experience is catered to.

Food - the food is both creative and delicious. The head chef is taking chances with food - working with interesting combinations and trying out visual surprises - while still maintaining hearty flavors and rich taste befitting of a french bed and breakfast. There is a tasting menu and a prix fix option, which allows for some great combination. The carpaccio reinvented is not to be missed

Service - the service is attentive without being overbearing. They ensure your glasses are full and your food is served hot. They also ensure that you are finished before whisking your plate from under your nose. The pace the courses nicely, so you have time to savor one flavor before moving on the next - a nice pace that doesn't feel rushed nor does it feel like they have forgotten you. Everyone in the restaurant is focused on the client, so a host may refill your wine glass or the busboy may top up your water - making it a very collaborative and attentive experience.

Atmosphere - this is an old house and, as such, has an old house intimacy. The space is nicely broken up by walls and alcoves to allow diner to feel more intimate. There is also a nice outdoor section for the warmer months. The decor is somewhat colonial with a french twist - which absolutely works. Dim enough to be soothing by bright enough to parse the delightful colors that will inevitably land on your plate.

A real dining experience.

“Fantastic food and drink”
Reviewed June 7, 2014

I procrastinated longer than I should have to make plans for a friends birthday dinner. I called L'Auberge the night before my friends birthday. I was able to make reservations for the next night and requested a birthday cake. They were more than willing to accommodate my request. The staff was welcoming and greeted my friend with birthday wishes. The meal consisted of several courses. Each course was unique in flavor and texture. The drinks were wonderful. I wasn't sure what to expect when the ordered birthday cake came out. All I can say is WOW! My friend and I were both stunned. It was fabulous! Thanks to L'Auberge for allowing a procrastinator to make a last minute birthday dinner wonderful.

“Tiny portions”
Reviewed May 26, 2014

Came for brunch. While the food was good, two of us ordered sea bass, and the portions were ridiculously small. Came away with very mixed feelings. Wishing ow I just sent it back and told them to make something else. Watched other items being served and they seemed to be bigger. Very dissatisfied although the staff were most pleasant.

The brunch menu is a three course menu with a welcoming Bloody Mary or a Mimosa followed by choices from a three course menu. We use the fresh and best of the season for our creations whether for brunch or dinner. Our staff tries to ensure each guest has a great experience here at La Table Provencale at L'Auberge Provencale.
Unfortunately, we can not fix the problem about what you thought was a small portion of fish. If you had pointed it out at the time, the chef would have been delighted to prepare you something else from the menu.
We hope you give our brunch another try. Just give me a call personally, my name is Celeste, before you come and I will be happy to make your dining experience here at L'Auberge Provencale a great one.

“Ridiculously tiny food portion”
Reviewed May 26, 2014

Came for Sunday brunch and ordered sea bass. Staggered at how little food was on the plate when it arrived. Very disappointed, very expensive - the staff were nice.

“A great deal more than "just" delightful. Memorable”
Reviewed May 11, 2014

The food was well, well worth the trip. All the flavors were so delicate yet profound...and I am not even a "foodie". But it would certainly be a "foodie's" delight. Small delectable portions. Not full, just fully satisfied at the end of the meal. It was a very special day.We sat outside on a lovely days, slight breeze, warm, not humid. The infrequent cars passing on the nearby road might bother some...we found the food, and the atmosphere so divine, that it would be the pickiest of people who let that slight noise bother them.
