“Great stop off Skyline Drive”
Reviewed September 30, 2013

We were headed south toward Roanoke on Skyline Drive/Blue Ridge Parkway and Stone Soup was our lunch break. The place is very unique, great for someone (me) looking for a unique local experience. The soups and sandwiches were great, but the highlight was the pumpkin cheesecake....holy smokes I could use another piece of that right now!

“Great experience on a hot summer day !”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

It might be a little hard to find, but it is worth the search. Even on a hot day during a heat wave, the outdoor tables under the trees were very pleasant. sandwiches were delicious and staff friendly.

“Dinner with music on Friday nights”
Reviewed July 10, 2013

Have had many dinners here and have always had a good experience. Summer of 2013 they will start to charge $5 cover for the nights with music (local groups/singers). The food has been excellent with chef prepared local items.

“nice place”
Reviewed July 10, 2013

The Stone Soup is in a Victorian era home at the top of the hill. I have eaten there several times and found it a very nice place for lunch. Of interest to geocachers - there is a geocache on the restaurant grounds which management knows about. There are steps involved, so I don't think it's handicapped accessable.

“Great Independent Sandwich and Book store”
Reviewed June 28, 2013

The cafe and store are in a re-purposed house. The food was great independently but also far better than any of the other places I have eaten at in the area. Definitely try the soups as they are very unique and flavorful.
