Local residents should be thrilled that the owners of the Foster Harris House plan to open for dinner on Thursdays and well as the weekends. All five rooms were booked the night we were there but we were the only ones who booked dinner; everyone else was going to the Inn at Little Washington up the street. I can't imagine they ate better food than what John made for us: lobster napoleon; carrot ginger soup; tiny potatoes and tomatoes with ricotta; glazed duck breast and a lovely blueberry lemon tart with lavender-dark chocolate gelato.
The intimate, casual dining room is a good setting for sharing the details of sourcing and preparation with John and Dianne part of the evening.
