Had a great brunch here. The decor is really charming and the food was excellent! The menu had something for everyone and the portions were a good size.

We went here for my husband's birthday and had a fantastic time. It was on a Thursday night, so the place was pretty empty. We sat at a table close to the bar area and there was a football game on, so the few people sitting at the bar were a little noisy...if you prefer a quiet dining experience I would recommend making reservations for their garden room away from the bar. Our server was very attentive and knew a lot about the wine selections, specials and menu. We ordered a bottle of wine and both started with soups (my husband with the beef and vegetable and I had the she-crab). The she-crab soup was delicious with plenty of crab meat and a little bit of a kick to it. My husband also enjoyed the beef and vegetable soup. For our entree's I ordered a small plate of the Greek Lamb kabobs that came with a greek salad. Both were very good. My husband had a steak that came with vegetables and mac n' cheese. He enjoyed his meal as well. We got out of there with an $88 bill, which for a bottle of wine, 2 soups, and 2 entrees is not bad in my book. We will definitely visit there again, although we usually prefer more casual dining.

Very professional, organized, GREAT food. They really listened to what we wanted and made our wedding day a true success! I highly recommend them for any event you need catering for in the Warrenton area.

As mentioned in a review today of another restaurant in Upperville, Va, we spent a few days a week during August, taking day trips to unique small dining places within 40 miles, give or take of Northern Va/DC.

One of these spots was the downtown area of Warrenton, Va. Which has a main street with some old buildings, shops, eating places, bars, and down the hill from that area, is a former depot, run by a lady who owns a local highly rated catering company and this bistro.

The setting is in an area of town with some retired train cars next to it, and as you get out of your car, there is no grass, no landscaping, just a small building sitting on the street, across from a parking lot, BUT, a little gem waits inside.

From the moment you enter, with the polished wood, the linen table clothes, the flowers on the tables, the lighthing, it is not ornate, just simple casual upmarket The menu is th cooking with a flair, the service is warm with local's serving, and the atmosphere is welcoming.

Unless it is really hot, dining outside on the patio is nice. And the small bar area, with a wood bar and some tables is a winner also.

We played it safe, we had the she crab soup, which was very good, salads, and since I love scallops, had those, which were perfect, my partner had some type of fish, we each had a glass of wine, (we were driving back to Vienna that day) then coffee and tea, and shared a dessert.

I think the bill came to about $135 plus tax and tip. To the people who say this is a bit pricey, and it is just a town in Va, not Washington DC or Arlington or Alexandria with top rated restaurants, we felt it was reasonable as this is the nicest restaurant that area has.

There are 50 restaurants neaby, Fosters Hamburgers, , 5 Guys hamburgers, Olive Garden, Applebee's, Burger King, Taco Bell, and some cute places up the hill on the main street of the old town.

This is not the type of dining place to bring little kids in the evening, or where you would show up in tennis shorts or jeans and sneakers for dinner. For men , a nice shirt and slacks, sport coat or blazer, some guys had on a suit, and ladies a nice dress, pant suit or even business attire.

Now lunch seems to get more local area ladies, day trippers and business lunch types, where dinner gets locals for a special occasion, tourists from outside the area exploring the Va countryside, and some business dinner types from within the area.
We definitely plan on coming back.

The food was good, maybe a little pricey. The area was very nice for a walk after dinner if you like that sort of thing, as we do.
