We've given this place enough chances & we are d-o-n-e! Tried it for lunch & dinner & decided just to give up the ship. Lunch on one occasion was just so so, but service was bad. Called & wanted to talk with someone about possibly doing a rehearsal dinner for 30 ppl; they never called back. Couple weeks later my son, his fiancé & I went there for lunch. Ordered crab dip---smelled like cat pee! Tasted horrendous. The rest of the meal was equally as bad. That was over a year ago. Went back with some friends last week as they were promoting a new brick pizza oven. My husband & friend ordered hamburgers..1/4lb...as menu states...overdone & burgers were more like a meatball. Thank God for the french fries! Another friend ordered a $10 salad, & it was sparse. One couple ordered a pizza from the new & great brick oven--just so so. I ordered a piada---known as an Italian unleavened bread.....lets just call a spade a spade. It was a chewy tough bread that is nothing different than a tortilla or quesadilla. Staff are more interested in spending time amongst themselves than attending to tables. Stay away..go to Iron Bridge across the street or Claire's, just a block away.

Been here a few times for both lnch in dinner, There aren't that many places to chose from so we wound up there more than once, although once was enough for me. Nothing awful, just not so great. I can cook so why would I bother to pay twice what it costs for the ingredients to have mediocre results? I don't know if the accept reservations cause they won't answer the phone! .meh.

The food is a bit of hit and miss. Some things are really good, others only so-so. The atmosphere is really "local" though, so that's nice.

Have dined at Black Bear a couple of times and it was a pleasant experience, with acceptable service. Food doesn't always live up to the hype. A bit pricey, perhaps.
