Brought my two phones, laptop, and multiple apple devices and left them all off! Was never tempted to turn them on!

This is the way a boutique should be, leave your wallet and phone on the bar with a good book, kids on the sand, stroll back to the room to get your book that you left behind, or send the kids back to get it. Visibility is great and your in good company.

What more could you ask for to de stress and unwind.

Staff and service were impeccable. This is a well run resort with all staff keenly interested in you with a smile at all times.

The accommodation is basic, no AC/ no TVs/ nothing fancy. Perfect where you want it. Clean room and bathrooms, excellent netting on the beds, a good quiet fan, clean sheets and linen, clean comfortable mattress and pillows. Great daily cleaning. Water was Luke warm on our room and no hot water but didn't need it.

Think of Robinson Crusoe. Can't think of a better way to describe the accommodation. Well thought out design ensuring weather protection, air flow and awesome connection to the beach and awesome view, with just enough space to the next hut to feel secure and yet private.

The restaurant is quaint and the food is good and consistent. The chicken is good quality and plenty of it, I'd recommend a little more variety on the menu, positive feedback for the management. Kids love pizza. Some really well done local dishes such as nasi would have gone down well.

There is a spa, but was so relaxed i didn't try it this time. Massage rates are reasonable.

The bar is perfectly positioned and the drinks were good. Bring your own bottles, if you like, they'll take care of you any which way. Would have paid extra for some good boutique beers! Will have to bring them along next time :-)

The snorkelling on the islands 15min + away was excellent, very safe, many small fish and small reef sharks - not dangerous.

My daughter went diving for the first time. The paddy team were outstanding. Never worried for a second whilst we walked to the other side of the island and checked out the amazing white sand beach perfect for the kids and small waves. The walk through the jungle- 15min was an easy one and very natural, nothing to fear.

The beach at rumba offers more to do though, snorkling and kayaking and searching for hermit crabs, skimming stones and watching the sunset.

Family of young or old, couples, young or old, single and just want to escape it all, it's really something for everyone.

If you want Aircon and are more Interested in the finishes and aesthetics inside your room, rather than the beauty around you outside, this probably is t the ideal place for you, but if you let go, I'd challenge you that you'll come away better off.

Getting there;
Drive in from Johor through woodlands or Tuas from singapore is an easy one and enjoyable for the most part. 2.5 to 4 hrs depending boarder traffic and time of day.
Car is safe at the ferry terminal, don't buy in to the stories too much.
Boat ride is an adventure and the kids love it. Don't expect a cabin and a star rating. Take comfort in the life jackets, that's all you'll need them for, the guys are very experienced.

Special thanks to Carly and all the staff for making our vacation a truly memorable one! See you all again soon.

Oh, price is all relative and if you walk away feeling this good, reflect on what you are paying for. We thought it was great value.

It's the second time I've stayed at Rimba and I've held off writing this review for one reason... I want Rimba Resort to be my little secret!
From Singapore, you can be transported to the most serene, simplistic luxury in no time at all. The staff are there to greet you and ensure that you have everything you need to totally relax. From comfortable and clean accommodation, great drinks and terrific food, a professional dive centre, a blissful spa, hammocks and lots of other places to curl up comfortably with a book. If you need time away from the hustle and bustle, this is the best place to stop and unwind. Thanks Carly, Theo, Zoe, Alisa, Connie, Ash, Adam and the rest of the staff for all your kind, fun and amazing hospitality.

The whole resort was set up uniquely with a homely feel. The staff were really friendly and made us feel welcome from the start. They made it a point to remember all our names which was really impressive since some of us have really difficult names to remember. Their service was fast as well and the drinks we ordered came quickly. It was located right next to the beach and the view was absolutely perfect. The waters were clear and a good place for snorkelling. The food that they served were really good as well especially their pancakes for breakfast. Overall, I had a really good experience here and I would definitely come back again.

Rimba was recommended to us by friends who had lived in Singapore, and we had a fantastic four night stay here over Easter. Two families with five children (aged 10 - 13), from Singapore and England. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and couldn't have done more for us. The food was delicious and the bar a treat! Relaxing in our traditional huts listening to the sea, watching sunsets and chilling around the resort made this a once in a lifetime holiday for us. Children loved the snorkelling and their diving experience - thanks to Max and Sarah for being so kind. Frank loved finding coconuts for Max to open. A tropical paradise. Thanks to Carly and her team - hope to return when we can!

We absolutely adored this place. The beach is just as white and the water just as blue as in the pictures. Great snorkling and diving and the food is really good. We really enjoyed the bungalows which are very romantic and falling asleep to the sound of the ocean is amazing. There's no aircon since it's an open bungalow without sealable windows or door, but a fan which is enough. The sheets hade some weird stains, but nothing major to complain about. Staff is very friendly and helpful, although sometimes a lite pushy with providing services and drinks (which is not included in the price). But apart from that tiny detail, everything was more than satisfactory. This is the perfect place for a nice and quiet weekend. Definitely the best resort on the island! We would like to come back.

Room tip: All rooms are similar, and located by the water. Lovely!
