Description: Margie and Ray’s Restaurant was established in 1964 as a small country store and tackle shop which was owned and operated by Ray and Margie Blanton. This landmark building located on a dirt road, now known as Sandbridge Road, served as a convenience for local Sandbridge residents. The store was passed on to their son Thomas in 1997 where it was renovated into a small seafood restaurant. Over the past several years Margie and Ray’s has become known as one of the top seafood establishments in the southern end of Virginia Beach. It continues to be operated by Thomas Blanton.

I go for fresh steamed blue crabs. If you can get jumbos, please do. However all are steamed to order so are fresh and not over cooked. Most other entrees are fried, but not all. Try the soft shell crab Bloody Mary in season. Fun place...we like sitting at the bar so we can meet locals.

We were in the area for our daughter's cheerleading competition and used Trip Advisor to find a good seafood place.
We could not have been happier with our choice. The restaurant was truly local and casual, just the way we like it. We were seated right away and our waitress was friendly and prompt.
The crab legs we ordered were priced at market value were plentiful, good and very reasonably priced. We also were really impressed with the taste of the chicken dinner we ordered.
I have to say though my favorite menu item was definitely the hush puppies! Probably the best ones we've ever had.
Although pretty crowded we never waited long for our food and our waitress checked in with us frequently. Loved seeing so many other families enjoying the place as well.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and highly recommend it if you're in the area.
We plan on making another visit when we return!

Went on a Sunday around noon and was seated right away. Bloody Mary’s for only $2.49 until 1:00pm. I guess that’s why the bar was packed as well as the outside picnic tables. Food was good and served fast. She Crab soup was good but thicker than what I am used to in South Carolina. Caesar Salad with fried oysters was good, as was the fried oyster “burger.” Lightly battered and tasty. Would visit again.

Took a ride out to Sandbridge Beach while staying in Virginia Beach and stopped for breakfast. It is a nice big place and we were seated right away. Wait staff was pleasant, helped by giving recommendations. Food came out fast, it was very good. Reasonable prices, nice atmosphere, would definitely recommend and go again if I am on the area in the future.
