We stayed in the Westin Virginia Beach Town Center this past weekend. The Westin is the tallest building in Virginia, which is sort of cool. It is located in the middle of a very new, created downtown, with upscale chain restaurants and shops. There are many places to walk to for dinner, or for a drink and to people watch. The hotel lobby is nice, and modern. Check in was not very pleasant, the clerk was distant and irritable. We had booked a corner room with special amenities. Once we checked our room we realized we did not have a corner room, and were missing many of the promised items. We had to ask to be moved, and the front desk was unnecessarily difficult. The bathroom was not as clean as it should have been. There was active mold in the bathroom, and OPH (other people's hair). There was something horribly wrong with the water pipes which made a very loud, screeching noise when you ran the hot water. We had fun, anyway. I would recommend the hotel for anyone who wanted to be near the Sandler Center (it is across the street) or wanted to be in this particular area of Virginia Beach.
