“Good food at a price.”
Reviewed September 27, 2012

We reserved an outside seat overlooking the ocean. Highly recommended view. Had filets with hollandiase sauce with crabmeat. The steaks were butter tender and cooked perfectly. Appetizer special, tempura fried lobster, was memorable. Could have been an entree. Portions are huge. As are the prices. It was very good. At these prices, though, I want to be wowed to give a five rating.

“Date Night”
Reviewed September 2, 2012

My wife and I finally had a weekend to just relax and enjoy each others company. We wanted to celebrate with a nice meal. We heard about Salacia and were excited about dining there. Here are the Goods, Bads, and Others.
First the Goods. The food is superior. We had the Crab Bisque and Carpaccio as a starter. My wife will tell you that the Crab was the best soup she has ever had. The carpaccio is also very good (tip order some Pesto on the side, it makes it that much better). Our entrees were the Kobe steaks Rare Oscar style with truffle potatoes and sauteed mushrooms. Oh my goodness the steaks were incredible. So tender and juicy and seared on the outside to perfection. Our waiter was Erol and he was polite, attentive without being intrusive, and knowledgeable about the menu.
The Bads. We made reservations for 5:30 and arived at 5:25. After standing at the empty reservation desk for five minutes and watching employees walk past us without speaking, I used the phone to call the concierge and was told a manager would be contacted. I stopped one of the hostesses and asked where we should check in. She said Salacia didn't open until 5:30 and all of the employees were in a meeting. We sat by the reservation desk until 5:40. Two hostesses arrived at the reservation desk and ignored us. We asked when they would begin seating and were finally taken to our table. Recommendation: don't make reservations for 5:30. Once we were inside the dining experience was wonderful with the exception of the music which was a little loud, making conversation difficult.
Others. We did not use Valet parking - this was a mistake. We parked in the garage on the top floor because all spaces were full. Also, eventhough Salacia validates parking it is only for two hours and then the garage charge $2/hour after that. Out meal was approximately a two hour event (if you include the 15 minute wait time) so we had to pay to exist the garage. This is a little disappointing when you consider we spent $340 on a meal.
Bottom line: the good far outweigh the bads. We will dine their again but not a 5:30 and use the valet service.

“Excellent food and service”

If you want a premium steak meal, pick this restaurant. Service and food quality was great but beware items are alacarte and order one veggie to share to save money. It is quite expensive but good quality

My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary there. I highly recommend the experience! The atmosphere was elegant, the food was exceptional (we recommend the crab bisque soup!), the wine and the bar drinks were wonderful! Our server, Seth, did an amazing job giving us wonderful recommendations and accommodating us with an impeccable service. We will definitely go back!!!
